Oblivion Patch Now Available !!

Its a small patch, 1.5MB or so. I'm used to seeing patches in hundreds of Megs. Refreshing to see one this small.

Yea, I was hoping to see a little more in the patch - maybe like a slight improvement in performance. Oh well ....

I was hoping for a "Memory Leak" fix.

We all know by now there is indeed such an issue with the game. It still crashes sometimes, after you exit the game. I thought they'd make that one of their priorities ... meh, oh well, we'll do without it for a few months until the next patch comes out, I guess.

I wonder if that's a hardware issue... cause I've played the game for 8 hours straight... closed like 5 Oblivion Gates... completed a few side quests... alt-tabbed in and out doing various other things... and it hasn't crashed since I got my unstable video card sorted out.

No because mine crashes after i exit. It will sit on the black screen for a second waiting for the desktop to refresh, and it says that it crashed. No big deal seeing as i was exiting the game anyway, but kind of annoying.

Also, i dont know about you guys, but i have REALLY blocky shadows in this game, HOMM V, BF2; im beginning to wonder if it is a setting. I know BF2 has that "problem" but the block shadows can be kind of annoying in HOMM V and Oblivion.

Finally, im pretty sure this is a glitch. When it rains, even if you are under a gate or overpass (You know what i mean) or something solid, it still rains. Im sure someone as noticed this already anyways though.

I get the crash on exit once in awhile ... doesn't effect saved games or anything though so not a big deal... I have also had the game crash to desktop like 2-3 times, buts thats out of like 100 hours gameplay & I think it was related to my Creative X-Fi driver.

Mine crashes on exit 1 out of 5 exits. Annoying but not a huge problem. Did they include any of the graphic tweaks that fixed lod issues and stuff in this?

I can't alt-tab without the game freezing. Also, when AntiVir does its internet update the game freezes and I have to kill it from Task Manager. I can't figure out how to set the time for the AntiVir update. grrrr.

I actually disable my internet connection & AV software when running Oblivion, which not only prevents any mult-tasking problems, but also appears to boost performance a bit.

Implemented SLI-mode optimizations on Nvidia cards, and Crossfire optimizations for ATI cards.

Im curious to see some new SLI benches now.

I had constant crashing till I underclocked my ram to 133 (from 200)
Now I'm rock stable except for the crash on exit 😉
Also, if you open the console before alt+tabbing it rarely ever crashes 😀

I'm using oldoblivion and I installed the patch without realizing oldoblivion wouldn't work with the patch, I don't want to reinstall oblivion so does anyone have a way to uninstall the patch?

I'm installing this patch and then getting back to playing!
On my brand new Dell 2407FPW aswell! Hehe!

Will report about SLI performance boosts and so on.

I'm not sure I'm going to istall the patch. I've played for 78 hrs and haven't had anything really bad happen. A few crashes here and there but I save quite often. Unless the patch fixes a quest that can't be finished, I don't really need it.
