I'm not even going to get game's like Oblivion untill a single GFX card is available that can easily handle them with max detail and a good resolution. It's just ridiculous to make games this demanding when the current high-end hardware struggles to utilize the game's full capabilities.
I only want to play game's the way they're meant to be played.
I totally agree with you. Also, waiting awhile allows you to buy the games at a reasonable price, say 19.99. I will never pay 50 bucks for a game, that's insane when you can just wait six months and get it for half that. So exercising a little patience yields a win-win scenario- beautiful game with smooth frame rates at a cheap price.
huh_ fu^k that, you know what. I could mow 10 lawns in the community and take in 10 bucks each, all within an entire day. That's within 24 hours, ONE DAY. I'll make a hundred bucks. Spend 50 bucks on an Oblivion game and the rest on transportation costs including gasoline for my lawn mower.
You're going to wait 6 months and ASSUME Oblivion, for example, because you mentioned, "that's insane when you can just wait six months and get it for half that."
Retail prices:
Example 1 - FEAR = 50 bucks (out for longer than you've been dreaming)
Example 2 - Battlefield 2 = 50 bucks (almost one year anniversary)
Example 3 - Starcraft for 2 years straight (1998-2000) = 50 bucks (believe it or not)
So let's see, six months includes:
24 weeks.
Each week includes 7 days, so you're waiting 168 days, that's half a year
Each day includes 24 hours, so that's 4,032 hours of waiting you'll be doing.
In 24 hours I will have already obtained a game in which I can play with over 80 FPS at 1280x1024 with very good settings turned up.
So you're telling me that even on highend hardware, I can't play a game with decent settings? You're telling me that Oblivion is going to cost 20 bucks in less than six months from today, or the date it was first released to the public as a full retail product? You are telling me, that it's worth it to wait 4,032 hours for a game to drop from price because you think that everyone owns a weak ass rig like yours? Bi_tch, you better think again, because you are living in a fuc_ken weak dreamworld.
The greatest nation on Earth has kids like you screaming at the top of their lungs because they are too fu_cken LAZY to do a days worth of work and watch every other enthusiast who owns something like an X2 rig and kill Oblivion?
Fifty bucks for a game today, is nothing. Minimum wage was much lower back in the 1980's, and NES games still hit the 50 dollar mark back then.
I guess some price tags aren't meant for everyone.
