I was able to play it with acceptable rate...in the 20fps... But man does the detail jump out. I could just stare at the walls and rocks..... :) weapons have more details than my old 19" LCD. Just want to share my experience. oh its on a apple cinema and 7900 GTX

20fps, acceptable? Is my sarcastic meter working?

How can you post this without pics? Man, that's just cruel.

eh...considering its Oblivion at 2560X1600 res (yeesh!) with I assume maxed out details I think 20fps is pretty good! My poor 6800GS struggles quite a bit outdoors at 1280x720 with maxed out details. <sigh> Anyone have a 7900GTX they can give me? :)

I have a Dell 30 but no games that go that high. Quake3 only goes to 1600x1200. Some of the demos go higher. Recommend me a download. My FIOS was just upgraded to 30Mbps so I want to stretch its legs a little.

if 20 is the minimum...which i doubt at that rez..

i'm upset w/ my 1800xt at 1024x768 w/ hdr and no aa/af . . does decent, but can tell when the fps drop < 25 easily and it bugs me . .

i'm an fpser mainly... who happens to play some rpgs...so if its not SMOOTH (30 fps min) i have a gripe. :p

it is a beautiful game tho . . i'm just tryin to find the settings that will make it smooth yet still look decent.

although, now playing a theif i don't really run into the 'lag' issue as much, but when riding a horse, fighting, etc (moving fast)...i can't have vid lag.

Demo work?

It's that steamengine thing you have to download? I have it. That's the one that begins on the train and those screws will taser you if you don't stay back?

I'm more envious of your FIOS than your Dell. :( Your connection is almost 30X faster than mine. :(

I'm not even going to get game's like Oblivion untill a single GFX card is available that can easily handle them with max detail and a good resolution. It's just ridiculous to make games this demanding when the current high-end hardware struggles to utilize the game's full capabilities.

I only want to play game's the way they're meant to be played.

Far Cry maxed out

It's playable because I get shot down unless I camp in the weeds and wait for those gun slinging mercs and then spring upon them with a knife and chop them up and watch them bleed.

I hear you man, but seriously 30fps is playable in this game IMO. Playable framerates really vary from game to game. This is not DOD:S by any means--in that you really need consistent 60fps to even compete :) Most of the fights in Oblivion take place indoors anyway, where you get much higher frames.
