there's no way they made the xbox version to look better =\ it should be the other way around

maybe out of the box it looks better.. but there will be driver improvements and tweaks. that .ini tweak seems to make a huge difference and i bet not a lot of people know about it or have even tried it yet before complaining about the graphics

Still driver tweaks are not an excuse. It shouldn't even be imaginable that an identical Xbox360 game looks better running at 1280x720 without 4AA enabled on a graphics card at best the speed of X1900XT. With PC's being much more powerful, there shouldn't be 1 game for xbox360 that looks better than the best PC game. That's why PC gaming is tanking and will continue to do so. When you pay $1000 US for a nice gaming rig and you can't really flat out say that it looks better, especially when you factor in 3x the cost you paid for it, gamers start to question if it's even worthwhile to own a PC that gets outdated every 2 years or 3 game consoles for the same price that you can play games on for 4 years.

Computers can do more than one thing though... I'll never be a console owner... Actually, I take that back. Once my son is old enough, I am going to have an excuse to buy a console... The wife won't be able to say no! Ha! Then I can beat my son and when he starts to get better than old pops, time to trade the game in and get another one... HAHAH! Ok, joking about that last part...

For the most part, I am pretty certain that the PC version, configured properly will look better than the Xbox 360 version... Could be wrong though.

There is no way the 360 version looks better than the Pc version, and if it does then there is something seriously wrong with that.

This is poor. They even did this with Call of Duty 2. It actually looks far better on the Xbox360 than it does on the PC.

Please dear god dont let them do this with the PC version of GRAW. I hope they delayed it to actually make it better.

And please anyone with any understanding, why would they do this to the PC user. Completely and utterly destroy the graphics like that, what has the Xbox360 have over the PC (at the moment i know its got a next gen everything in it, but not fully utilized at the moment, probably at the levels of todays cards), and also why would they mislead the gamers like that showing off amazing effects and stuff and then the PC gamers dont get any of it!

I didn't get very far in this game last night, but it's certainly far from inpressive.

Decent, sure.

But nothing spectacular, & i was running with everything maxed, 4x AA 8x AF, 1600x1200.

Ah well, the wait for truely beautiful graphics continues...bring on UT2k7 :D

I have this image in my mind...of a microsoft executive handing a bethesda employee a huge check..and simultaneously.. i see weird visions of quake4 turning into mario64...idk whats wrong with me /stagger....goddamn aspirin and cough syrup...oh wait...im getting something....i see...i seeeee...a patchs....mods....i see...vast changes...i see...the inside of my eyelids....and...darkness...oblivion.....

I went to a local videogame store..and they said they recieved many many more xbox360 copies than PC copies.
They also said they were sold out of PC copies very early in the day.

I believe the downgrading of the graphics..was a marketing tactic to sell more xbox360's. Because in my experience with my neighbors...all the games suck so far. Oblivion is the reason so many people purchased a 360.

I think there will be plenty of patches to increase performance and quality for the PC, even if they are unnofficial, but it will take some time.

Morrowind was ugly and totally buggy when it was first released....but on xbox it was ok. Then about 4 months later things started happening...mods...texture replacements....ini optimizations... I think that 1 year from now the PC version will already be tired of urinating on the xbox360's corpse... atleast reguarding this game.

Well I'm not even going to play it. I would return it if I could. It's like paying for a 10 dollar hamburger that looks huge in the picture and they slap a squished meat pancake on your plate

You guys are pathetic. The CHARACTER MODEL is the most finely detailed I've ever seen, exquisitely bump-mapped and detailed and all people want to whine, cry and hate on is the GROUND?!?!? "OMFGWTFBBQ!!! o Noes!!! Teh texter is stretchd!!!H4X!!!111!!" Pitiful.

Half-Life was awful by today's standards, but was the greatest game ever. I'm not an Elder Scrolls fanboy in the least - this is the first RPG I've played, not counting KOTOR - and I think this is pretty good looking. But, haters will hate instead of playing and STFUing.

I agree with DefRef, this game looks awesome in motion. I'm not an RPG fan at all yet I'm loving this game in all aspects. Just wish it had coop mode then it'd be perfect.

Youd be wrong then... 360 has 3 cores of processing power vs the average PCs 1..
it also has a secondary chip on the GPU that only does AA and special effects taking the load off the main GPU.

The 360 is stronger peice of hardware than most people give it credit for.
the game is flat out gorgous in 720P hi def

Hmmm, I do value your opinion... I'll keep it then. Did a mod ever come out for Morrowind allowing co-op? If so, I'd eagerly await for something like that to be added to this game.

Out of all the games, co-op always gets neglected... I am tired. Most of the time, I want to relax when I play a game and chill with my buddies. That is why co-op is so fun, yet very very few games employ it... Tired of this death match 1 versus 1 crap, honestly. Then again, I am a sore loser :D

Is it so hard to calmly respond to someone's post without acting like a rambling 3rd grader who had to sit in for recess?

Please post a ss of the model in question as I don't want to make further comments until I see this...marvelous creation.

Depends what you bought it for. If a big reason for getting it was the super graphics you were promised, yeah, you'll be disappointed in all likelihood. As far as the games quality, I would think it should be pretty fun. If 50 bucks isnt much to you id keep it

Heh I'm a big team dm fan but it's also fun to sit back with a few friends and play a coop game as well. I have serious doubts about a coop mod since it would require adding in networking code which seems a major undertaking. Then again there's a lot of ingenius people out there so here's hoping someone does it.

Not really. Its pretty nice but not spectacular. And besides, it seems like the only thing that didnt get severe degradation

I never expected graphics better than HL2 or Far Cry... So if they live up to that, no big deal. Morrowind was good graphics when it came out, but I didn't like how open ended it and bland it was. Hoping this is more of an "experience" than the last installment.

All I can say is on the 360, the game looks breathtaking. Easily the best looking game I've ever played. Don't just look at the screenshots, play it yourself! The textures arent as good as they could be, but the lighting, shadows, and scenary more than make up for it! My problem is the 360 version chuggs along at times, and the drop in framerate is noticeable.

sure the gameplay is amazing

but this is a big slap in the face by bethesda! how MANY people seriously have just bought a 600$ video card so they could fully enjoy and play with the graphics we drooled over from screenshots over the last 6 months ??

i don't care if they made a devillish deal with the devil.. the fact is so many people spent large sums of money on ATI/nVidia cards so they could play this game with amazing graphics.. and then it becomes pretty obvious they purposefully scrapped the graphics down so xbox would get more sales ??? or because they were afraid PC gamers with old video cards couldn't play it? that is such immense BS and it's stinking up real bad in here. Sure they made an amazing game but untill they fix this they have lost a lot of respect from me.

I feel like I was sold a nice luxury car and the cardealer went ahead and scratched all the paint with his keys so as to not make the competition jealous

The unfortunate thing you have to remember is that Bethesda or any other developer doesnt care that much for the high-end, the people like us who have X1900's and 7900's and high-end CPU's. We're only a small minority, maybe 1% of the gaming market, meanwhile 99% of people have far lesser hardware, such as a 6600GT, a Radeon 9xxx, or maybe even a GeForce FX. THESE are the people that matter to Bethesda. If Bethesda made it so the graphics were amazing (well, more amazing than they already are), and people like us were loving it, it wouldnt help them one bit- because 99% of the market wouldnt be loving it, and Oblivion's sales wouldnt be looking too good either. For Bethesda, it's better if they release a quality game with at least satisfactory graphics that can be enjoyed by everybody, rather than one with OMFG amazing graphics that can only be enjoyed by a very few.
