Oblivion dual core optimized?

I have a opteron 165. dual core

I run oblivion and keep windows task manager open to monitor CPU useage. if it was true dual core I would expect CPU usage to spike 80%- 100% in truth it only goes to 60% , 10% of which is the graphics driver.

Can anyone else conform these results or is there is a setting ingame to enable dual core ?

Change this is the ini file in the save games in "my documents"

[OPENMP]
iThreads=20
iOpenMPLevel=20

iPreloadSizeLimit=1000000000

try that, it needs to be set to use more than one thread

yeah this game is not optimized for dual cores maybe in a future patch ? but i dont think we will see a dual core optimized game till UT2k7

I see alot of options like

bUseThreadedTempEffects=0
bUseThreadedParticleSystem=0
bUseThreadedBlood=0
bUseThreadedMorpher=0
iNumHavokThreads=1

Also, IThreads=3 ... AMD CPUs handle 3 threads at a time as it is, it would make sense that iThreads=6 would be the ideal number for dualcore if that is in fact what iThreads means.

all in all the settings seem to have smoothed out the outdoors a bit. Increasing INumHavokThreads should split more threads for in game physics.

I now spikes up to 80% but stays between 60%-69% most of the time. It looks like the AI was not threaded from the core game.
