Oblivion Bug?

Yo there peeps,

Just had a big problem with Oblivion. Halfway through the "Where Spirits Have Lease" quest (the one where you buy the haunted manor) I've gone to the inn in Anvil to meet up with Velwyn Benirus, but he isnt there! The green marker arrow shows him to be standing in the middle of the inn but he clearly isnt, I've checked upstairs too and he just isn't there.

Any ideas? Is this a common bug?

any 'bug' questions ... go to the official ES:IV forum and look at the Oblivion walk-thrus

that miniquest had some oddities ... try 'waiting' ... or coming back later ... maybe he is "asleep" ... sometimes NPCs won't talk if you 'wake' them

and you must have 'both items' to actually 'talk' to him with good results ... it's been almost a year since i played Oblivion

Ah, thanks for that, I shall use that forum in the future

I actually got that mission sorted by reloading an old game where he WAS still around and then reloading my previous game, at which point the game seemed to remember he was supposed to be there.

Unless that was just random!

it was a weird SQ that had to be doned *exactly* right ...

... and it isn't that we don't love you ... it's just that the TES forums are such a wealth of exhaustive info on things Oblivion
