Maybe we could push for a campaign of self control, moderation and accountability for eating habits......LOL yeah I know that was funny. Lets just raise taxes and hope said taxes aren't mismanaged and end up being sucked up into the governmental waste, corruption and bureaucracy.

I especially love when people get so fucking fat they go on permanent disability and then don't have to work plus then they qualify for medicaid allowing us working stiffs really end up picking up the tab.

Private insurers already do this.

On a pitiful scale. In my entire career the biggest benefit I've had to my health insurance premium is $10/month if I promise not to drink and drive and not smoke. Basically, I pay the same as a 400 lb smoker and always have.

Clearly the government should be paying people to lose weight with a yearly stipend to keep it off.

Sadly that is about the only thing that might work. Atleast till there is some sort of magical pill that keeps weight off.
Well they can always mandate that from now on each and every Refrigerator must have a full length mirror mounted on the door. If people saw how ridiculous they looked when they we going to stuff their face they might do something about it.

The problem is most people don't get food from the refrigerator. It's to easy to spend $5 and gobble down a big mac for dinner instead of cooking healthy. I think resturaunts should have the mirrors. Put them by the soda machines so people can watch themselves getting diabetes.

My wife's work insurance charges smokers extra - I want to say $25 per month or pay period. I'm not sure because she doesn't smoke.

Many private insurers will not cover someone if they are over a certain height/weight ratio, have a family history of certain illnesses/diseases, have diabetes, hypertension, etc. Sure, you can get in if you're covered by employer group coverage but good luck being 'a fatty' and getting insurance on your own.

LOL This topic!:D Just blame every labor saving device you own for a weight gain of 1 to 3 pounds a year and you would come a lot closer to the truth.
