Well it seems that some people were overpaid and will now have to return some of that juicy cash. Reverse stimulus, here we come!

So wait, what is your argument? Should people get to keep their overpayments? Do you think that Obama should enact more stimulus? (I agree!) I mean I get it from the 'the stimulus got screwed up for a small section of people and it sucks to be them' viewpoint, but it still doesn't really suck all that bad as they are $400 ahead of where they would have been anyways.

I know, you pay into a crap system that gets terrible return? And the VA isn't exactly exemplary in terms of quality of care. Sorry, I'll stick to my parents employer offered Kaiser Permanente.

When you consider that probably millions of Americans are going to end up owing more (or getting a smaller rebate) come April 15th, I think this is pretty huge.

Have you ever used the VA? I have. Not only in my personal experience (they saved my life) but in customer satisfaction surveys they beat private insurance every time.

Yeah but it was a major mistake on their side. It's not like they are saying, "Oh never mind, we are going to take that credit we gave you back." We still got it, it's just that it sucks they effed up that bad.

More than 15 million taxpayers may owe the government $250 or more because of how the IRS last spring set up President Barack Obama's tax break that was designed to help consumers spend the U.S. economy out of recession.

Translation: The IRS implemented the plan poorly.

Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, the senior Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, called problems with the tax credit "another unfortunate example of what can happen when Congress and the White House rush through legislation like the stimulus without thinking through the consequences."

Translation: Congress wrote and the White House approved a poorly written law.

Ok, so which is it? From the rest of the article, it sounds like the IRS didn't write the new tables correctly; it smacks of the bureaucratic screw up, not a political one.

Of course, all of this assumes a lot about the accuracy of the article to begin with.

Anybody notice that the people running the IRS are leftovers from the Bush years?

Probably not...

The sheer incompetency of the repubs appointment and hiring roster will be with us for years to come, particularly the Fundie-whacks and minor cronies hired into civil service positions...

But it's Obama's fault, right? Of course it is...

must be why the head of the army sat in congressional hearings earlier this year talking about how they had to improve the routine terrible situations with it.

You are talking about middle class income here. You know, the folks that are struggling so much that they needed to see a pittance in their tax witholdings. The folks living paycheck to paycheck unable to get johnny the Christmas present he has been dreaming of all year. Johnny isn't going to get his dream, johnny hoped he would, johnny's parents hoped there would be some change.

Johnny's entire family is hurting, Obama is making them hurt more, that is Barrack Hussein Obama's goal for his end game. Remember - naw, naw, naw, REJECT middle classnessness. Why this is any surprise from this fucker is beyond me, he promised it. FBHO.

This is our President's goal.

You seem to have a fascination with testicles. Could it be Pelosi's are resting on your face 24/7?

The country was probably finished off by Bush and we're short only the final curtain, but in the mean time real Americans everywhere will be joyously paying more taxes to try to save the nation. The party of death folk will, of course be whining as they always do.

No, I am sad I can't kick the party of death in the nuts any more because they have lost them, but I find that reminding them of the recent science on the drop in testosterone among death party males is why we're hearing their shrill girly screams every time Obama forgets to put down the toilet seat for them. It is fascinating to me how you can kick the idiots in the no balls as easily as you can when they had some. The party of patriarchy turn out to be a bunch of little girls.

You guys don't understand the screw up now result in more jobs being created/saved. See with all the confusion of how much to pay back, who exactly pays. H&R BLock, and places will have keep some people to help answer questions.

the IRS will bring in some people to man the phones(to answer questions from this confusion).

Yep, we've been over this several times before here. Those who have been patients or have worked for one know they are actually quite good.
