I especially love this paragraph:

So those were the things that we did through the Recovery Act. Now, every economist who has looked at it has said that the recovery did its job. It put a brake on the collapse of the economy. We avoided a Great Depression. We are now growing again. The problem is, number one, it's hard to argue sometimes, things would have been a lot worse. Right? So people kind of say, yeah, but unemployment is still at 9.6. Yes, but it's not 12 or 13, or 15. People say, well, the stock market didn't fully recover. Yeah, but it's recovered more than people expected last year.

He saved us from a 15% unemployment rate...Thank you Mr. President.

I heard extracts on NPR this morning, must admit, its was VERY partisan for a presidents non election speech. IMO, this kind of speech will do him more hard than good...

He's completely clueless to what the majority of the country thinks of him. And every time he opens his mouth he only pisses us off more.

This is NOT the way a president is supposed to act or speak.

Hilliary was right...this guy is an empty suit. Next thing you know he'll be promising a chicken in every pot. Now a double dip recession looks likely. Great job!

But by all means keep telling us how horrible the Republicans are...meanwhile Rome burns.

Obama needs to expose Republican obstructionism. The GOP will sabotage this country's economic recovery to score political points, and that needs to be brought to light.

The funny/not so funny thing is the unemployment rate in Racine is over 14%:eek:

He didn't save Nevada from 15% unemployment.
He didn't save Michigan from 13% unemployment.
He didn't save California from 12% unemployment.


So yes, when people say that unemployment are at these levels, they are in fact at these levels.

If you're going to post a ridiculous claim like that, you should at least give some sources to back it up. Maybe examples of such obstructionism?

Hint: Makes talking heads at Fox News look silly, but then we already knew that.

Boeher never said the 'financial crisis was an ant'...he was saying the 'fix to the financial crisis was an ant' (big ass difference). Obama distorted and misrepresented his words in order to make a pathetic strawman...he puffs up and the lemmings cheer as he knocks it down. How nice.
