Obama's on fire

Well, wadaya know. I honestly had no idea they did that. It's their right to not show it, just as it would be their right to not show a similar movie about Obama. But I honestly think that in the hypothetical Obama case, the 'refusal to show' would be more wide spread and vocal. Either way, I don't like the idea of anyone making a movie like this, but I recognize the free speech aspect. As the statement credited to Voltaire says, 'Though I may disagree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it'.

I'll agree there would be more news outrage, part of it is that film was close to Bush's unpopular streak.

Yes, I'm aware of that. Doesn't matter. If the Brits made a film like this about Obama, I'd be willing to bet that there'd be people calling for it to be banned in the US.
The amusing thing about "Death of a President" is that Obama did the very things attributed to President Cheney - and the libs lapped it up.

In 2006, Hilary Clinton said this about the film you refer to:

"I think it's despicable. I think it's absolutely outrageous. That anyone would even attempt to profit on such a horrible scenario makes me sick.

I guess you're entitled to your speculation about how people would react if it was about Obama instead.

In all seriousness, good on her for saying that, and thank you for pointing that out. I still think (yes, my opinion / speculation) that there would be more public / media outrage if a film like that would be made about Obama. And again, I think that would be equally as deplorable.

Good man Mr. Geek! As I said earlier, I believe there would be more news outrage about it if the subject was Obama but let's be honest he isn't always treated fairly with his heritage so its OK that he gets a little more support on something like this

I'm looking at the Birther nuts...

Back to the topic, Obama was real good yesterday. Crowd was engaged, people liked him, he seemed to enjoy himself understandable since Trump was/is a birther for whatever reason. I'd do the same if in Obama's position.
