You answered your own question.

Not really. Perhaps you'd care to provide some historical perspective on your view of just how such blatant & pervasive scaremongering became part of the zeitgeist.

An opinion....simply that. The terms strawman and goal posts gets thrown out a lot around here.

Heh. You merely argue against what you want to think that I believe, against attributions you assign to me, rather than against what I actually wrote. It's easier that way.

That *is* a strawman argument.

I suppose you didn't apply judgement to me by calling me a conspiracy theorist? This isn't personal and I don't know you and you sure don't know me. I've developed an opinion or argument as you say as all I observe reading yours and many others posts is a lot of defending or trying to rationalize the very things that I very much oppose for this country.

That said, it's a free country for the most part. You're entitled to your opinions.

"The more the people are discontented with the oppression of taxes; the greater the need the prince has of money to distribute among his partisans and pay the troops that are to suppress all resistance, and enable him to plunder at pleasure."

Benjamin Franklin

We're experiencing nothing new, just the modern day version of it. What remains to be seen is how far we'll be pushed before taking action.

It's like you guys don't even realize that taxes as a percentage of GDP are lower now than they were when Bush was in office. Is the right wing media bubble that strong?

There is barely any right wing media since it's dominated by leftists and liberals.

They don't care. They only want what feeds their hatred...

No, Just telling it like it is.

The modern media is corporate/ conservative. They have to be to get sponsors to make money. That very simple fact shapes their presentation entirely, particularly wrt political programming & news.

Are Rush, Hannity, Savage and the rest of the right wing parade on talk radio really "Leftists"? O'Reilly? Does Fox News have a Liberal bias?

Obviously, that looks different from the far reaches of wingnutlandia, where 99.9% of the political spectrum can be defined as "Leftist".

You're there, cowboy, and you don't even know it.

I'm all for demilitarizing the police and reining in federal police forces. Let's start by sending the Border Patrol back to the border and restricting their authority to say a 50 yard zone inside the border. With the thousands upon thousands of agents they have now and all that cool gear if they can't stop folks in the first 50 yards then they should be fired for incompetence. Concert bouncers can do better than that.

Watching that should alarm people. If that were you would like to be yelled at and man handled? I'd be rather pissed. They basically pissed on the Constitution and were able to run a drill on how easy it is to shut down a city for one person. That's not police work; that's military operations and what Homeland Security is ramping up for.

This guy's assessment is spot on....

Fox News does have liberals in case you didn't know. Again resorting to personal attacks, you have lost again.

Fundamental Chains….

Posted on August 17, 2013 by sundance

The continual crisis, after crisis, after crisis is beginning to paint a disturbing picture. Consequential Intention. As Eric Rush wrote:

[...] the aftereffects of the sub-prime mortgage crisis, violence on our border with Mexico, the Occupy movement, assaults on religious freedom and free speech by the administration and activists, and the implausible organization and mobilization of fringe malcontents into politically active groups.

These developments can all be traced (as I’ve recently indicated) to Obama’s political roots, which are borne out by his policies, his associations and his affinity for such doctrines as Black Liberation Theology and Critical Race Theory. Continue reading →

Oh, so the Media isn't "dominated by Leftists & Liberals" as you claimed, since Fox News employs a few as a form of tokenism?

I actually just finished a book where the premise was that a fictional President (presumed to be Obama since the book is otherwise set in the real world and in the current time period) sets off an EMP over the Southern US. he then sends in FEMA to provide aid, but only if the recipients of this aid agree to give up all their guns. they're supported by DHS goons.

the premise was utterly absurd (though politics aside, the actual character plot of the book made for a good read)
