I've never been a birther. However, why is it that watching a video on the subject that is only a few days old and looks compelling qualify as some sort of racist pursuit in your narrow view?

Because he didn't want to entertain crackpot theories, and he knew that any proof he gave likely wouldn't settle the question. Conspiracy theorists rarely accept the truth when you show it to them, because they're more interested in the feelings behind the conspiracy (I'm an outsider who knows the real score) than the facts.

As it stands, I don't know what people gain from challenging the authenticity of Obama's birth certificate a month before he leaves office, especially Arpaio. It says more about their own beliefs than Obama -- that it's not enough to disagree with his policies, they have to disagree with his legitimacy as an American (and really, as a person) right up to the end.

As has been explained by legal experts for what now...20 years?. Clearly you didn't know that. All you have to have is 1 natural born parent and you can claim natural born citizenship to be eligible for President but many seem to constantly overlook that fact because some enjoy their reality distortion field.
