Steven Rattner, the leader of the Obama administration's auto task force, was one of the investment firm executives involved with payments now under scrutiny in a state and federal investigation into an alleged kickback scheme at New York state's pension fund, a source familiar with the situation said on Friday.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Treasury, which oversees the auto task force headed by Rattner, also declined to comment. But when asked whether the Obama administration knew of Rattner's role in the investigation, the spokesperson said: "During the transition, Mr. Rattner made us aware of the pending investigation."

The auto task force headed by Rattner operates under the Treasury.

Sources familiar with the investigation told Reuters earlier this week that several investment firms are being scrutinized over whether they made improper payments to intermediaries to gain business from New York state's pension fund.

So which advisor on his cabinet isn't part of the finacial industry, that supposedly has caused all the chaos?

A relative joke for all you Messiah lovers,

What's the difference between Jesus and Obama?

Jesus could build a cabinet.

I think your joke is amusing but I also believe Obama can as well. The difference being Obama builds it with rotted wood and hopes it holds up.

I thought the difference is that Jesus actually has less mindless followers.

That's why you should leave the thinking to those who are capable of it.

"During the transition, Mr. Rattner made us aware of the pending investigation."
Must be pretty confident that he didn't do anything wrong as is the Administration.

Or confident that his position would shield him from what repercussions he may have otherwise had to deal with.

Not likely.

Jesus wasnt actually a carpenter. He was more than likely a stone worker, tool maker, mason, or someone who works with is hands. Consider the lack of what we like to call today "Wood" in the middle east and modern day Israel.

The greek word we use for carpenter actually translates as "artisan"

your joke is lost in translation

Jesus KNEW he was going to be betrayed though.. he just had to allow it to happen. You know that whole rising from the dead thing. I bet Obama couldn't do that, even though Oprah thinks he probably could.

The Obama Jesus thing is being taken way too far, for a cheap political chuckle. Leavie it at the chuckle, it's a cute crack and Obama deserves some teasing.

You better remind the French president of that as he is expecting Obama to walk on the channel in June at Normandy.

This is all part of a larger scam run by the democratic machine in New York State. California has its own share of problems. Quite a coincidence huh? Two of the largest democratic states reeking of corruption associated with the liberal pension system. *snorts

Here is a New York Times article explaining it all.
