When you remember that the country is not a 50-50 split between democrats and republicans, and that democrats are a huge majority in congress, then yes he is center. If you put center in the middle of democrats and republicans, you have an argument, but that is not reality.

I'm sure in the cad's mind center is some very right place.

Looking at the gallup chart,

Among democrats and independents, support has increased.

The biggest drop is among Republicans..and specifically conservative republicans...

I don't understand why they are supporting Obama at all.. They voted for McCain.....

What it means is that the blowhard trolls, or 20%-ers, (you know who you are) who post at AT are failing with their propaganda and should increase their personal attacks, obfuscation and faux outrage.

It's worked really well for them, doncha think ??

Probably.. but the attitude I see is indicative of this faulty logic I saw during the stimulus debate. House Republicans were up in arms and the media played along how they were being shut out and that was not fair, but the reality is the American people have made them a small enough minority that they don't need to be consulted. That isn't Nancy Pelosi's fault. The government is not 50-50 today, Republicans have to catch up before they get a seat at some tables.

wasn't it the republicans who said no to Lehman bros getting a bail out? That shit seems pretty cheap right about now. Those remaining tards should focus on making sure the 10 commandments are in court rooms and making sure people are on life support.

No no no, Obama opposes legalization of Marijuana. You wouldn't want him to veto his spending package would you? :D

His popularity is still high because Americans understand that this mess is not of his doing and place the blame of the previous Administration and Congress. He probably has until 2010 for things to get better or Americans will start blaming him and 2012 for things to definitely be on the rise.

I think I'm a pretty reasonable person and I'm giving him until 2010 to show something, anything really but at that point with the type of person obama is he would say "you know what? This is hard and its not working. We are going to try something else."

At least, it's better than the total nothingness the Republican minority has supported.

..many didn't vote at all. they saw no diff.between the obama and the maverick. instead of voting for the lesser of the two evils others decided to give evil the job and vote for the obama.

If they gave evil the job why is Obama in? I don't remember him dropping bombs on another country.

There was an interesting OP-ED about this. Basically as everyone who wasn't blinded by ideological rage knew, Obama has been very moderate. This makes the people on the far left mad as they feel betrayed, and the people on the right were determined to hate him anyway. So basically he's standing in the center, but in super polarized America this could lead to a situation where he's catering to a constituency that doesn't exist.

I would find that both sad and hilarious for the same reason. Basically the moderation that everyone always claims they want actually turns out to be 'moderation = whatever ideology I have', and there are no real moderates. At least it would put to death the false ideal of the middle of the road guy.

Buahahaha "very moderate" Only a blind BHO apologist would suggest such a thing. Just because the freak left and the conservative side of the aisle don't like him doesn't mean he ends up in the "center". Sheesh.

CAD, I was specifically referring to people like you. Take your toy and go home.

I figured you were but that's because you are no different. I'm Conservative - you're liberal. However, there is no way in hell any SANE person can call BHO "center". "center" of the left - maybe, but "center" in American politics? Pull your face away from his crotch.

Just why do you accuse others of what you do??:D

It's obvious you are one of those typical liberals who would like to spend and support every social programs out there and don't mind raising taxes especially with the rich for liberals don't pay no taxes.! Remember Obamanomics? 'From the bottom up' is how the economy should grow and not from the top down just like in Reaganomics. Now how do you grow the economy from the bottom up? The same way ACORN is now taking foreclosed houses and claiming it to be theirs! Or in short by civil disobedience or commonly called thievery! That's the only way to grow the economy from the bottom up!
