Let me see if I can get my arms around the Grover Norquist argument.

As Norquist and everyone else in the GOP had been obstructing Obama and calling Obama far nastier names for four long years.

Then during a few debates at the end of the campaign, Obama called Romney a "Poopie
Head" and Romney's head exploded and Romney's wheels not only feel off, they went flat too.

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going, and keep going. But when wimps like Romney try to get going, he pops like a child's balloon at a single critical word. Do we really want a Romney wimp for President.

Nor is Grover very original as he said exactly the same bogus thing Karl Rove just said.

There aren't many people I hate more than Karl Rove and Grover Norquist. Their tears of sorrow bring me tears of joy.

If those two think they have it all figured out then why don't they run for president/vice president. That would probably be the biggest democrat landslide in history.

I concur and I am LOVING this shit!!

Except Obama never called Romney a "poopy head". Apparently Grover Norquist has gone off the deep end.

Ya know, a few sandwiches short of a picnic;)

certainly felt like the most negative campaign ever to me (regardless of whatever retarded language Norquist wants to use).

It was nasty, but there have been worse.

His critique of President John Adams included the accusation that he was "a hideous hermaphroditical character, which has neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman."

But that's also how the Adams gang painted Jefferson. He had been an early supporter of the French Revolution; therefore, said Team Adams, he would import the guillotine and sow French-style chaos. Their vision of a Jefferson presidency looked like this: "Murder, robbery, rape, adultery, and incest will all be openly taught and practiced, the air will be rent with the cries of the distressed, the soil will be soaked with blood, and the nation black with crimes."

Although this should sound awfully familiar...

And then it was over. On Inauguration Day, the victorious Jefferson called for an end to partisan strife: "We are all Republicans. We are all Federalists." And: "Let us restore to social intercourse that harmony and affection without which liberty, and even life itself, are dreary things."



As to Norquist's specific claim, I don't think you can say that the negative advertising was what won it for him, as there was just as much of it on both sides. They likely mostly cancelled each other out, riling up their respective bases while making the middle feel frustrated and dispirited.

Apparently Norquist is seeking to expand the GOP and corner the nursery school vote with this rather strong-but false-accusation. Douchebag can't even whine without lying.
