I don't get involved in "righty" or "lefty" debates, but seriously, Obama doesn't need defending in this thread. The thread defeats itself.

We're complaining about the nearly 4 trillion dollar budget, but you assholes say the same thing when we bring that up.. 4 TRILLION DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But thats not an issue to you guys either.. Either is the nearly doubling of the national debt.. No real issues? This issue is just one of a BUNCH of them..

Except that it's not $4 Trillion. Obama's proposal was $3.6T. After the Congressional D's are done with it, we're looking at more like $3.2T based on the sort of cuts they're talking about making. And for comparison purposes, Bush's final budget proposal for FY2009 was $3.1T and didn't bother counting the war costs or the inevitable fix to the AMT, etc., etc.

Hey, we cut domestic spending growth from 12% to 9%! Let's get a pat on the back.

Oh good lord. Calling this a stretch would be giving it more credit that it deserves.

*DING!* Winna winna chicken dinna!

I'm still waiting for the improvement.

I was too, but then I realized this story didn't involve any gay prostitutes posing as journalists and the improvement was immediately tangible. Whew! :)
Throw in the huge rift of difference between the two execs (one managed to appear mildly retarded for 8 years, notable for 'free speech zones' and shills aplenty; the other is a law school whizkid who BYPASSES HIS OWN PRESS CORP in an effort to lose the filter. And then there's the first ever real-time vid chat with the PotUS... Yeah, that's all totally the same kind of M.O.

How anyone can be passing this admin off as no type of change or improvement (not saying it's all been good) is beyond me. It's like you guys are trying to appear retarded. Is recalling a scant 7 or 8 years ago really too much for the average forum pundit?

I guess, once again I am befuddled by the conservative side of this forum discovering criticism for issues that were 100 times more severe one presidential cycle ago, issues they largely defended!

YOu keep bringing up the budget as if you arent aware we are going through a mortgage crisis. You know, the one on the news, where banks and AIG (who insures the mortages for the banks) are going under. If it is allowed to fail we WILL be in a massive depression. The gargantuan budget is to fix this problem, to do nothing leads us into a depression.

Get over it already. We HAVE to spend that money.

As far as the budget shortfalls for the next few years, you also dont seem to realize that the reason they are so unbalanced isnt because of excess spending, its because of decreased revenue from Taxes, people are earning less, and more people are unemployed. This means less money to the govt.

Get over that too. Its a fact of life in the situation we are in. Obama didnt create this economy, but its his job to fix it. You on the other hand sit here and bitch about it on hte internet and know absolutley NOTHING about large scale economics.

This snippet underlies the stupidity of this op-ed and how it reaches farther than Mr. Fantastic (although lacking his intelligence). Alert the presses, this guy has discovered that 5% of the questioners in the audience had direct ties to Obama! One was even part of a Facebook page for him even though she never donated money to his campaign, holy sht!

That's PJ's typical MO. He looks for a thin whisp of a word combination that, without further inspection, would appear to support his outlandish lie (or more correctly, LIES) du jour. Even worse, he seems to expect an informed community like P&N to fall for his bullshit without giving his so-called "evidence" so much as a thought about whether he's telling the truth, even though experience tells us almost everything he posts is lies, distractions, diversions and complete perversion of the truth. From the article at his link:

The sixth in-person presidential questioner, "Ellie" from Maryland, did not give her surname. The White House did not respond to a request for it, but noted there were roughly 100 people in the audience.

OMFGWTFBBQ!!!! Five people out of "roughly 100 people in the audience" in the audience were identified as Obama supporters and contributors.

PJ -- If you really expect Obama to bar his supporters from such an event, maybe you should write him and demand that he allow Faux Noise to hand select the audience for his next event. I'm sure you'll be as effective in spreading your FUD with him as you are, here.

Ask your friends, your thankfully EX-Traitor In Chief and his criminal cabal of traitors, murderers, torturers, war criminals, war profiteers and general incompetents. They're the ones who squandered those trillions... along with thousands of American lives
rose.gif
... on their illegal war of LIES in Iraq. Thank them again for the other trillions they squandered by abandoning all oversight and control over their wealthy Wall Street robber baron contributors. :|

Those trillions were wasted long before the Obama administration came to office. Now, we're stuck paying the price for the Bushwhackos' criminality. You're just bitching about how Obama's administration is doing it.

The good news is, your turds lost the election. Get over it.

Had we done nothing we'd be in depression right now..

Prove it.

It isn't a hard case to make. Just search for the published opinions of the majority of economic scholars, including many "conservative" economists. It doesn't matter that they don't all agree. There's enough evidence to support the statement as a credible operating premise.

Still, he doesn't have to prove anything to you. We are where we are. The Bushwhackos put us here, the Obama administration is now in charge, and they're going to do the job of cleaning up the Bushwhackos left for us as they see fit.

At least, we now have a President with intellect, integrity and a conscience... for a welcome and long overdue change.

Where have you been for the past year?

The fed chairman, and the previous, and current treasury secretary said so, and so do all of the top economists in the world... The credit market would have absolutely frozen up. Credit cards would be denied even when there was credit left. No-one would be gettting mortgages, cars, or anything. Furthermore small businesses that rely on short term loans to get by would be unable to get them, collapsing the economy entirely.

if you can prove that it won't lead to depression, then you have a case. Otherwise, no one wants to further increase the chance of depression.

Yet he is doing many of the same things Bush did, including your so called illegal wars of lies in Iraq and Afghanistan.. including sending MORE troops to Afghanistan to possibly take action in Pakistan. Apparently you are for killing innocent children and babies in an unjust and illegal war. But, your position doesn't surprise me at all because you have no respect for the Constitution.. if you did, you wouldn't support shredding it with nearly every post you make about wanting international laws or courts to apply to our Presidents.

There's nothing "so called" about the LIES the Bushwhackos spread to pimp their war in Iraq. Rather than post one of my "macros," do your own homework, and search for any of my posts with one of them, including names, dates, quotes and links to prove the point. If you can't do that much, you're not worth the effort to discuss it further.

The war in Afghanistan is the war against those enemies who actually attacked us on 9/11, the war we undertook with the consent and approval of the large majority of the entire world community, including many Islamic nations... You remember... the war we should and would already have won if your fucking jackoff EX-Traitor In Chief and his criminal gang hadn't pulled our troops and resources, there, to squander them in his war of LIES in Iraq.

Apparently you are for killing innocent children and babies in an unjust and illegal war. I'm not sure which is greater, your blatant ignorance of the U.S. Constitution and our laws or your eager willingness to prove it. :Q

U.S. Constitution: Article II
.
.
Section 2.

The President...
.
.
... shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur;

By definition, treaties have the force of law within the United States. The only restiction is that they cannot trump or overrule the Constitution, itself. If the President signs and Congress approves a treaty subjecting the U.S. to international law, such as the Geneva Conventions and other laws against torture, the provisions of that treaty are as binding as any other law.

Do you only open your mouth to change feet?

Yep. Russia wants the gold standard, China wants to come off the dollar as the global standard.

All because Obama cant keep his hand out of the cookie jar.

"Buh buh Bush" is old, and is irrelevant. If that is all the same few people can drum up in every thread about the economy, we are in more trouble than I thought.

You know the idea that you guys keep putting forth, that the guy who was President for the last 8 years has no bearing on current events, is awfully silly. America will be feeling the effects of his policies for years and years to come, and so you better get used to hearing about him. I mean you didn't really think that after 2 months the guy suddenly doesn't matter anymore, did you?
