Obama to tell country to 'take responsibility' for our future

Quote:
President Obama will call on Americans to "pull together" and "take responsibility for our future" in his first speech to a joint session of Congress, according to excerpts of his address.

You must take responsibility for our future!

Oh, by the way, I just ran up a trillion dollars on your credit card last week suckers!

If he wants us to take responsibility then I believe our first order of business should be to bounce him, his administration and the entire congress out on their freaking butts!

Just put what Obama says on one side (it will look like a lot of ther things he already said no doubt - he talk about "founding promise..new fairness..take care of folks.. protecting our childrens future" etc.

Then put the things he actually does on one side.

Then read Alisnky, Antonio Gramsci, Fabian Socialists and you'll see how to sort out the wide distinctions between the two. Your head will stop hurting (if your stiill sane).

ACORN plans local action to stem NWI mortgage foreclosures
Thursday, February 19, 2009 | (15 comment(s))

"Northwest Indiana could become a battleground in an effort to stop the rise of home foreclosures, a grass-roots political action group says.

Eric Weathersby, a spokesman for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform, said the group plans next week to roll out a home ownership squad and a rapid response team in the region.

Lake County Sheriff Rogelio "Roy" Dominguez said he hopes ACORN isn't planning civil disobedience actions similar to those being advocated by ACORN officials in New York City.

"We cannot take a vigilante approach," the sheriff said."

I'm actually surprised nobody's gone vigilante on the bankers yet.

Where are the gun nuts when you need them? :p

Im just wondering what will be the breaking point in this country. It is very early for people to take this sort of stance is a newly elected official. Even bush was mostly supported for the first few years I believe.

It may not be Obamas fault, or it might be mostly his fault. As of right now he is at the end of the stick. If he screws something up big time, the citizens most likely wont take it.

Bus was a tool - but his forrays into socialism were ill advised mindless wanderings (a reason conservatives rejected him). For Obamacrats its the main goal. Bush did love his illegals and wanted them to have houses they couldn't affford. But it was the Clinton Mafia they really kicked away the footings of sound business principles and made lending a private/public mutation that opened the door to the destruction we have now. It was warned about years ago

In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders

The action-- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans.... Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing PRESSURE from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits

In moving, even tentatively, into this new area of lending, Fannie Mae is taking on SIGNIFICANTLY more risk, which may not pose any difficulties during flush economic times. But the government-subsidized corporation may run into trouble in an economic downturn, prompting a government RESCUE similar to that of the savings and loan industry in the 1980's.

''From the perspective of many people, including me, this is another thrift industry growing up around us,'' said Peter Wallison a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. ''If they fail, the government will have to step up and bail them out the way it stepped up and bailed out the thrift industry.''

The same toads who stole peoples saving to give it to other people and helped banks commite suicide are now in charge and doing it again with more wealth transfers disguised as "stimulus" and help. Barney Frank should be in jail

American's knew they were going to destroy America. how many times did you hear a friend talk about how much money they owed on their credit cards or the deferred financing they had. Just because you have a $10,000 limit or x limit does not mean you need to use it all.

So let me get this straight:

1. Obama inherited this massive debt.
2. The people need to take responsibility.

This guy is just passing the buck on everything isn't he? So far he has turned out to be an empty suit.

CHANGE we can believe in!

Huh? It's not Obama's debt, it's everyone's debt. He's saying we all need to take responsibility.

While I agree with the sentiment I feel it will fall on deaf ears. The "I deserve", "I'm entitled to" mentality has taken over and it isn't the fault of bush or obama. It lies with the people.

Well we mustn't forget congress. They sold out our country for campaign contributions. And the first one to blab about republicans gets pimp slapped. Both parties are bereft of any decency, common sense, patriotism, or whatever.

As far as ACORN is concerned... I hope everyone of them gets jailed. Where was their community activism when these stupid people were getting themselves into this mess?

Unfortunately, you're neither smart nor do you have 'skin in the game.' Hell, you're not even a chump or a mark for those who do. You're just yet another idiot who sees only what you believe rather than believing only what you see.

What's responsibility? This concept is new to me.

Its not my fault I'm fat. Its McDonald's. Grand Theft Auto made me go carjack someone and beat hte crap out of them. etc, etc.

I can't remember the last time people took responsibility for their own actions. Its always something or someone else fault.

Of course, it will fall on deaf ears.
Republicans never take responsibility, they always blame Democrats and liberals for everything. Then wave the flag while shouting hate and blame on half of America.
While Democrats never take responsibility, they always blame some intangible or some ideology, like corporations or free trade, then praise freedom and rights while trying to deny half of all that from America.

Luckily, politicians on both sides don't believe a word of it. Like the rest of us, they just work for the money.
