Iran is not a threat to the USA, nor was Iraq. It's a damn shame the left is as pro-war as the previous nutjobs we had in office.

A+

Do what he does best - talk :)

Give him some credit. I'm sure there is a stearnly worded letter being snail-mailed to Tehran as we speak!

I am glad Obama is making the world love us so much.

We now have NK testing nuclear missiles.
Russia helping Venezuela refine uranium.
Russia helping Iran.

USA stabbing our allies in the back.

Sure looks like Obama "reset" relations with Russia, reset them back to Jimmy Carter era.

What happened to if Israel Nukes a neighbor we should peg a nuke at them?

Because to even dent deeply buried Iranian nuclear facilities, Israel will probably have to use nuclear powered bunker busters.

And what happened to the fact that Israel would be committing an act of war by bombing Iran even if it uses conventional weapons?
And the then resultant right for Iran to retaliate against Israel? Or the fact, that no matter what, Israel must overfly other countries
to reach Iran, with that too being an act of war. As it is, Uncle Sammy is obligated to defend Iraqi air space, the other route that really strains the range of Israeli planes are over Syria and Turkey. Syria may not have much air defense capacity, but let us just say that Turkey is going to be far less than amused, especially when its legislature had say NO to its leadership on one prior occasion. My bet is that Turkey would scramble its planes and Iran would have the needed warning.

Thats the thing. Israel WON'T nuke its neighbors. History has shown that Israel has MUCH more of a reason to fear its neighbors than the other way around.

Is this the same Israel that's been bombing the shit out of it's neighbors proactively? Right. They're our terrorists, though, so it's OK>
Same Israel that is being attacked by some neighbors continually.

Same Israel that attacks a neighbor that has never accepted cessation of hostilities against Israel.

The problem is the Common Courtesy contention is that Israel will attack neighbors that do not attack it. Syria has not recently attacked Iran, Iran has not attacked Iran, yet Israel pees it pants when any nation in the mid-east gets potentially strong enough
to be a threat, even going so far as to tell Uncle Sammy that we can't sell planes to an even more distant Saudi Arabia.

And now Israel is actively lobbying to bomb Iranian soil.

In some what defense of the Common Courtesy position, its possible to state that Iran is helping Hamas and Hezbollah, but still two points to make there. (1) Iran is not the only mid-east country engaged in that as Israel earns the hostility of its neighbors by still settling on disputed territory, kiting the hatreds, and dooming any possible settlement that might lead to mid-east peace. (2)
Iran has possibly the best home grown armaments industries in the region and really restricts the weapons they sell. Were Iran to go really rouge in that area, the US occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan would be untenable, and Hamas and Hezbollah could transform themselves from the hunted to the hunters, able to launch raids deep into Israel while taking out any ground based defenses.

Nato is not losing in Afghanistan and Iraq because of any lack of ability to bomb the shit out of anything, they are losing because they use the wrong tactics and fail to make life better for the average person on the street. And then bombing the very man on the street makes it even worse.

Please take your ball and go home mad, maybe the smarter people left in Nato will not have you to make their problems even more difficult in terms of winning hearts and minds.

"NATO" is loosing in Iraq? I would say Iraq is in pretty good shape, and there's no "NATO" there either.

Some of you guys need to read up on current situations and drop your partisan delusions.

One thing everyone needs to remember is that Iran is a signatory of the Non Proliferation Treaty, and Israel is not. There is a double standard because they are in different legal situations, by their own choice and the consent of other nations.

I would just like to say, my official position and hope for the situation is a joint attack on Iran by the US, UK, France, Germany, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. Destruction of the Iranian nuclear facilities and regime change would be good for Iran and the region. It would be a constructive cooperative moment for nations which have often been at odds with each other.

For those who doubt that even the US can destroy Iranian nuclear facilities, do you think the scientists are always deeply buried underground? How about the power supplies for these facilities? The materials needed to maintain them and build the bomb making equipment? Is the entrance incapable of being caved in?

I am sorry but the US has very little credibility around the world after the false WMD accusation in Iraq that lead to an unjustified war killing hundreds of thousands. Not many country in the world has this kind of track record.

So don't expect any military action against Iran is gonna be well received around the world.

But really, why give Iran this much attention. Iran and its president is nothing but attention whore, just like the NK's. So what if they have nuclear capability, like American have less nuke? Like Iran is capable of delivering a strike against the US? Like they dare? As far as terrorist getting a hold of the nuclear weapon, Russian and China should be more afraid since they have separatists living right inside of their country and have huge border right there in Asia where terrorists can cross over with the weapon.

And yeah why is Obama talking $hit? Where is Hillary Clinton, his appointed Secretary of State who should be handling international affairs. Is Obama taking over the job and the office? Or is he doing this on purpose to discredit Hillary so she won't able to win any points and run against him next time.

Presidents also conduct foreign policy, this is totally standard practice.
