Do you ever have anything relevant to say, or just childish insults?

Dear Dingo Boy:

Topic: Obama "recklessly spending" says House Republican Whip Eric Cantor

I provided actual facts as to the level of deficit spending when comparing Bush and Obama. I also noted that Eric "Recklessly Spending" Cantor is an obfuscating hypocrite.

Just like you and your propaganda.

That's a lie.

That's another lie.

Go for the trifecta, Dr. Goebbels.

*** Uh...do you even understand how the US government works? I suggest you do some reading on the roles of the executive, legislative and judicial branches before you go spouting nonsense.

"President Bush signed a $700 billion financial bailout package Friday, shortly after the U.S. House passed the rescue measure, in a vote of 263-171. The action paved the way for the government to start buying up troubled assets from financial institutions caught on the wrong side of record home foreclosures."

Hey look, that's from NPR...one of your favorites, I'm sure! No crying "right-wing news site!" on this one.

"In his White House run, Obama assailed the economic policies of his predecessor, President George W. Bush. But the dismal deficit figures, if they prove to be accurate, would amount to more than four times the deficits of Bush's presidency and raise the prospect that Obama and his Democratic allies controlling Congress would have to consider raising taxes after the recession ends."

This is from what is probably your second favorite site, MSNBC!

You were saying? Once again, more insults, lies and FUD from you.

Edits: Added more links to better refute heyheybooboo's lies and FUD.

TARP was enacted before Obama took office. The bailouts of GM and Chrysler were under his watch, but I think support for those programs were pretty high because of the underlying manufacturing and logistical infrastructure that also would have suffered had both automakers failed.

The stimulus/spending bill had to be done. The economy needed a shock to the system to bring it back to life again. Almost everyone would agree that had McCain won, he would have proposed his own stimulus bill.

Am I missing something? How is Obama "recklessly spending?"

This question isn't sarcastic, I really want to know if there's something I've missed in the news.

TARP =/= Stimulus/spending

Not stimulus, no. However, many ill-informed people trumpet that as being Obama's program when it happened before he got into office.

Look at the budget. TARP aside, the federal spending is indeed reckless, with almost $2 trillion deficit.

I guess I should amend my original statement that Congress "proposed" it, but really, that's splitting hairs. Congress has to approve spending (the Senate specifically, I believe). Bush can't just take $700 billion dollars and spend it on whatever he wants on a whim. It's this thing called "Checks and Balances".

Thank you, Dr. Goebbels.

The unified Federal budget had a surplus of $237 billion in fiscal year 2000 and $127 billion in fiscal year 2001.. (Gee. An actual US Treasury document)

In late 2000 the total projected Federal surplus for the next decade was $2.2 trillion (which did not include Social Security, which was expected to generate an additional surplus of $2.4 trillion by 2010).

So much for Al Gore and his *LockBox*, huh?

So. I'll type this slowly for you:

George Bush took an annual surplus in the unified budget of $127 billion with projected surpluses as far as the eye can see and turned it into and annualized deficit of $2.5 trillion. You ignore the very simple fact that in the last 120 days of the Bush Administration the US incurred $834 billion in Federal debt. Feel free to do your own math at the Treasury Department search function: The Debt to the Penny.

Barack Obama is a bright man but he can't fix The Shrub's Fiscal Disaster in 140 days.

And you are simply a Contard Troll. Good day.

I said, "good day," Troll.

Gotta love the persistent name calling. Man, you sure are "cool"!

So after all this, the crux of your argument is, "This is Bush's fault!". Conveniently neglecting to mention that with your infamous "in the last 120 days of the Bush Administration the US incurred $834 billion in Federal debt" quote, that Congress has to approve any proposed budget or spending. Who controlled Congress since 2006? Oops, Democrats.

I should have known...which is why I generally ignore you.

Of course, you ignore all of the other points I made, because you know I'm right, and you can't refute them. Ignore the fact that Obama's budget (proposed and passed after Bush was no longer president), is going to run a record deficit. Try and pin that one on Bush...I'm sure you will try, of course.

You're not funny. You're not a super genius. Your entire argument is, "But Bush!"

So much Blame Bush Blame Bush. It would be nice if the Democrats would stop blaming everything on someone whos been gone 100+ days, and by all rights much longer as the Democrats had Senate control for quite some time.

When your plan fails, blame that failure on the last guy right?

This is a common tactic on both sides.

Many Republicans blame 9/11 and the 2001 Recession on Clinton.
