I believe also, that Obama is responsible for a massive wave of retardation that seems to be principally affecting the lunatic right.

As if it's not retarding those who think blaming Bush automatically balances gov't budgets and creates world peace :p

I don't know what you mean which may account for the fact that I also don't know why you addressed this to me.

Naw, just commenting that there is also a massive wave of retardation on the other side of the political fence.

Right... As though anyone thinks that.

What is retarded is living in denial and/or excusing GWB's mistakes.

I am sure there is. I am sure, also, that at some time or another, or many times, I deflect criticism of my sacred cows by pointing at others, while still conscious of the fact that doing so changes nothing about my own foolishness. I hope you don't mind me suggesting you are doing that here. While there may be retardation on the left, what I have noticed is a preposterous number of titanically ridiculous attacks coming Obama's way lately from the right? I don't know if you agree, but I think many of us see that. I just wanted to point out what was, I thought, wrong with this one.

Anyway, it makes me happy when partisans don't get into government.

CAD lost his mind sometiime leading up to the Invasion of Iraq. He hasn't been the same since.

CAD retreats to semantics and extreme parsing of definitions every time he starts losing an argument. Hell, I remember one thread where he was shrieking about how everyone was forcing him to use the economics definition of 'progressive taxation' instead of one that he just made up himself.

That's strange. I remember people were saying if Obama gets elected, he's going to kill of business, he's going to tax people, etc, that it would hurt America, that he would hurt people like "joe the plumber".. Heck, I'm not a "great economist", but right after Obama got elected even I was saying the economy was going to tank badly (do a search on my old threads).

Most of the people who didn't see it coming was the Obamabots -- the ones that were being feed on "hope and change". The one's with a blind hatred towards Bush, so much hatred, that they couldn't tell their heads from ase.

During the campaign, how many times did Palin say if Obama was elected he's going to hurt business? Hate her or like her, obviously, she saw some of this mess coming...

Guys, you're just embarrassing yourselves now. Truepaige was talking about how the masses of campaign workers hired every election season all lose their jobs every 4 years. Don't think I'm not laughing some at your smug 'I told you so' attitude that is applied to posts that you didn't understand about an economic situation that you don't understand.

Your continuing attempts to blame the catastrophic economic conditions that started before Obama was even elected, much less in office, is just your ideological rage blinding you from objectively assessing reality. You're hurting no one but yourself.

Are you serious? Those are the things every politician says about the other side and we were already headed into the recession before Obama was elected. Remember the TARP?

Actually, we weren't headed towards a recession, we were already in a recession. Both McCain and Obama, or even Hillary (because we were in a recession before she was out of it) would have to be dealing with this. The economy didn't tank because of Obama, he just hasn't been able to save the entire world in the 4 months he's been President. Do I think Obama can turn the economy around, yes. Do I think he could be doing a better job than he's doing, yes. Do I think had McCain been elected that the world would be in some awesome, happy, rich place? No. (If McCain had been elected we'd have invaded Iran, North Korea, and Pakistan by now ... or at least bombed them all)

You realize the only Obamabots that exist are the ones who want to paint all the problems that have occurred as a result of the last 10 years of policies on his 4 months of presidency.

The days immediately following Barack Obama?s victory were intensely strange for these people. After the steady crescendo of anxiety and passion that climaxed on election night in a sort of national orgasm, the full-staff was left particularly limp.

The writer of that article just took the hundreds of years of subtle, clever, sexual innuendo in English literature and beat it to death with an iMac. Hemingway is probably curled up in his grave sobbing right now.

 Still trying to bring that up? Puhleeze - I'm sorry you couldn't understand the point I was making and that it's made you so mentally frail you have to try to extend your failed "semantics" BS to everything. Just because some of you want to read more into what is said than is - doesn't mean I'm playing the semantics game - what it means is that you people need to read more carefully and resist your urge to ASSume.

Meh - won't happen with the likes of you though... :shrug;

Conservatives are so predictable, I was just loling at them trying to blame the Dems for the mess that Bush made, like noone saw this coming a mile away. Lies/distortions/projection/fearmongering has been all they have for ages.

If we're still dealing in Hemingwayworld, that isn't likely to have a happy ending. ;)
