For the lulz.

For the lulz indeed. It is just as good a reason as any other. It isn't some grand conspiracy...

How about we have our rememberance of 9/11 on 9/11.

How about YOU, the OP, and every other fucking ignorant-assed TROLL in this TROLL THREAD get a fucking clue?

National Days of Prayer and Remembrance, 2008

By the President of the United States of America

A Proclamation

During National Days of Prayer and Remembrance, we pay special tribute
to the thousands of innocent victims who died on September 11, 2001.

Our Nation honors the brave citizens, service members, police officers, and
firefighters who heroically responded in the face of terror. On these important
days, we reflect on the terrible events of September 11, 2001, and lift
the victims and their families in our prayers.

Our Nation will never forget the individuals who lost their lives in New
York, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon. America remains inspired by the
countless acts of kindness and sacrifice we saw that day?fearless rescuers
who rushed toward danger, a beloved priest who died helping others, two
office workers who carried a disabled person 68 floors to safety.

We also pray for the safety and success of the members of our Armed
Forces now serving freedom?s cause. We seek God?s grace on their families,
and commit to Heaven?s care those brave men and women He has called
home. We ask the Almighty to watch over America and pray for His providence
and continued blessings on our country. May He always guide the
United States of America. As we defend our country against its enemies,
we pray for help in protecting the gift of freedom from those who seek
to destroy it, and we ask the Almighty to strengthen all those securing
liberty on distant shores.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States
of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution
and laws of the United States, <do hereby proclaim Friday, September 5,
through Sunday, September 7, 2008
, as National Days of Prayer and Remembrance.

I ask that the people of the United States and their places of worship
mark these National Days of Prayer and Remembrance with memorial services,
the ringing of bells, and evening candlelight remembrance vigils. I
also invite all people across the world to share in these Days of Prayer
and Remembrance.

You fucking asshole, ignorant, lying, stupid, brain-dead, dead-ender right-wing TROLLS are beginning to piss me off with your RETARDED COUNTERFACTUAL IGNORANCE.

Grow up and get a clue. :|

You disgust me, Anus.

but seriously... why not have a 9/11 remembrance on 9/11? I don't think it's a huge deal, but it's certainly queer.

i agree. seems weird ot have it before and not when it happens.

Why don't YOU and every other idiot learn your own country's recent history regarding this occassion before your open you mouth again, eh?

wow you really have anger issues.

Yes it is weird that they are having the 9/11 rememberance on the weekend BEFORE 9/11. I would think it would be more powerfull to have it on that weekend and day.

I have NOT said anything about OBAMA. so why you trying to act like im slamming him?

I don't give a flying fuck who signed what. It was weird when bush did it and its weird now.

When a week (or a day for that matter) of remembrance is once made it's customary to keep it.

That you stupid twats don't understand that even AFTER it has been explained to you is irritating.

I object to "National Days of Prayer and Remembrance". I don't pray, attend a place of worship, or see any value in a candlelight vigil. Guess I'm not invited.

So, when are the parties for the Little Big Horn, the U.S.S. Maine, Pearl Harbor, the U.S.S. Cole? I seem to loose track of this stuff. (The Alamo was basically a Mexican vs Mexican fight, by the way.)

I have never understood the value of "remembrance days" for tragedies.

National remembrance days are useless, personal remembrance days can be valuable to those it concerns or in the military, to remember those who came before us.

I'm sure there's still the usual services for 9/11 on 9/11 like the national moment of silence at 9AM.

Again, read the fucking thread, it was Bush that named 9/5 as the national remembrance day.

IF it had been changed to 9/11 i would expect the same braindead useless idiots to respond in their usual braindead useless way as you have all done in this thread.

In short, shut the fuck up, it wasn't MOVED!

Am I the only one that doesn't care about this particular event regardless of when it's observed? More people die in auto accidents on a monthly basis. If I mourned everyone who died there'd be no time for anything else in life.

The question was why he moved it instead of using the actual date, it was answered and if he HAD moved it Mr Anus would create a thread about how he moved it all the same.

Don't congergate with idiots and people won't think of you as one. It's valuable advice for anyone.

nope.

i was watching a show on history channel (i think it was that anyway) about Jesus. they said IF he was born it was like June 4-6th. But since Christianity steals a lot from other religions they took over the winter holiday.

it was actually a pretty good show.

The ONLY reason i know of was because it was the closest date that occured on a weekend at the time.

Short sightedness was one of his biggest trademarks, after all.

It's entirely possible i missed the discussion, i was in Pakistan at the time.

I laughed :)

I wish I could come up with a great 1-liner about the communists overthrowing the russian government to get rid of the czars and Obama the communist putting them right back into power. (not that I think Obama is a communist, but I think there's humor to be had if I can hammer down the wording)
