BTW I expect we will see some type of fundraising scandal related to Obama post election. Lots of noise going around about foreign donations, donors with fake names, lack of basic fraud protection on his finance web site etc etc.

Election. Fraud. Now where have we heard those words in the same sentence before?

Yes. Though I'm more curious as to where all this noise is coming from...

I remember an oft-repeated phrase among the neo-cons and Jesus rode dinosaurs people 4 and 8 years ago: "sour grapes."

I think Obama has killed campaign finance reform for good. And you have to wonder if this is a good thing or a bad thing for the country.
Republican 527s were what forced Obama's decision not to take public financing. Plus, it's hard to argue with a campaign funded by individual contributions. All the bullshit about foreign donors, etc. is just that - bullshit.
Bogus.

Groups helping the Democrats have outspent groups helping the Republicans this time around.

Of course. The shocking part is that this seems to surprise you.

you know, TA John, there's a reason people throw support behind people, and it doesn't always have to do with crooked back dealings and shenanigans.

Oh wait...I should apologize. being a republican shill that's the only method of support you understand. I guess it makes sense that you can't understand why your view is so horribly wrong for this country, and so many more people have disagreed with you.

Damn socialist, refusing to accept taxpayer money and government restrictions. No wonder all true thinking small government GOP'rs hate him so much.

You ever stop to think to wonder why Obama has raised so much money in small contributions from so many of us? This is an extremely rare situation where thousands of small donations actually overmatch the GOP's standard fat cat money pool.

LoL. such a socialist, that Obama :D

Can anyone explain to me what is wrong with this? People have voluntarily under their own free will chosen to give their own money to his campaign, as opposed to not having the choice of my tax dollars going to the McCain campaign.

How is this a bad thing?

something just seems weird about a race where one guy can just completely buy up every single time slot and create such an uneven playing field.

Again...its' because people have chosen to give him that ability, of their own money.

What is stopping the McCain supporters form doing that? Could it be...I mean, is it possible, you think...that a lot of those have even...gasp...switched sides?!!!

... no corporate money here though...millions of individuals funding him and the other canidates
Don't forget the General Electric owned MSNBC running a 24/7 ad network for Obama. Indirectly, it is a much larger campaign financing than the mere $290k. I'd have to hunt for the link, but an independent media review study showed that MSNBC is by far more overwhelmingly for Obama, than even Fox News is for McCain. And I mean shockingly more for Obama than Fox is for McCain.

You do know McCain, true to his long record in Washington, opted to use public financing, right? McCain thus is unable to accept any donations from anyone for the presidential campaign.

The ONLY reason McCain opted to take public financing is because he couldn't raise the funds on his own.

And perhaps BHO didn't have a prayer without massive PR spending to flim-flam the weak minded sheep. There was no chance if he had to compete with comparable resources on a level playing field.

It's all point-of-view.

Yep, you nailed it. No wait, the liberal media bias is why he is winning. No wait, it's ACORN. No wait, it's because all Obama supporters are mindless zombies. No wait, it's because he's black and we have white guilt. No wait, it's because according to Cindy McCain he's running the dirtiest campaign in history.

I'm in!

Of course you are. Balt just mocked every hack argument he could and you ate it up as if he was serious

Yeah but oddly enough it's a true.

He is winning because he is the hope we have been waithing for.

What do you think will happen for you (specifically) if Barack Hussein Obama is elected?

this is a serious question

Hopefully, I'll be able to someday have affordable health care that actually pays rather than dispute rightful claims.

Well let's see if he does as well on his promises as Bill & Hill.

Yep...advertising is why Obama is ahead in the polls.

It COULDN'T be that people actually LIKE his message...

Once again, this old conservative Democrat will have to choose between 2 people I don't like...it really leaves a sour taste in my mouth, but not nearly as bad as the shitty taste I've had for the past 8 years.
