Here's the Beef
"Clinton campaign manager Maggie Williams said in a statement: "Enough."
"If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed. Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely," Williams said.
She called the flap "nothing more than an obvious and transparent attempt to distract from the serious issues confronting our country today and to attempt to create the very divisions they claim to decry."

That's a clever hedge by the Clinton campaign, but I note the lack of a denial that they in fact floated these images. I'm sure the campaign itself didn't deliberately do this, but it wouldn't be shocking if a rogue staffer did.

I am sure this will get even uglier the closer we get to the Ohio and Texas primaries. Clinton simply cannot afford to lose either and will pull out all stops to win. Obama will as well, but I suspect the more ethically challenged one will be Clinton. It seems the Clinton's will do anything to get elected, this being just one more small example. The drug use by Obama story is another example.

LOL at U for be so willing to accept what Drudge has posted as absolute fact yet so quick to slam me for suggesting it could be a story planted from by the right.

Firstly, poor reading again on your part. I never suggested it was absolute fact.

But, you're saying that (1) the Repubs/McCain sent this to Drudge fooling him into thinking it came from another source, and (2) the Clinton staffer unwittingly responded to the this hoax thus mistakenly providing it a veneer of truth, and (3) the Obama campaign manager fell hook line and sinker for the ruse so also responding to a complete hoax . Or (4) Drudge made the whole thing up and lied about the campaign staffers respones. And this is the most plausable explaination.

Yeah, I'm LOL'ing at you.

And yes, if this story has any real traction, then explain to me how that picture is going to switch voters from Obama to Hillary, becasue I don't see it at all.
I will grant that you are consistant. Once again you're attempting to put words in my mouth. I never said it would be effective.

Please see bolded above.

Until I see proof that the Hillary campaign has in fact been actively spreading this photo and that Hillary OK'ed this I will "right" it off as an attempt by the right to smear both candiates with one stone.

Show me the beef.

Go google "Obama picture".

I got almost 200 hits. The story has spread to the AP, the BBC and a bunch of newspapers etc.

The Hillary camp is NOT denying it. This I find hard to believe? I have difficulty believing this was "official", yet her campaign can't even seem to come out and suggest it was rogue staffers or someone acting independantly etc.

I will now say this is going to get a bit of traction. Looks like it's gonna be in many newspapers and on the news shows tonight. Looks more like it's gonna hurt Hillary as many are also bringing up the "Muslim" email two of her staffers were caught circulating.

Hillary is a stealth Republican ............ Bush is a stealth Neo-Nazi dweeb surf Pig.

is there actually proof that Hillary was the one who dropped this photo? or are we just assuming it was her because she's a bitch?

... I don't really care one way or another about the picture but I am glad to see the dems continuing to rip each other apart. As I see it this is win-win for McCain - it paints both of his opponents in a bad light (Obama the "terrorist" versus Hillary the slimeball politician) and gives him free ammo to fire back when the real campaign begins in earnest. He gets all the benefits of throwing mud in the political arena without ever getting his hands dirty or spending a dime out of his war chest, woo hoo.

The longer the two of them drag this on the harder it's going to make the election for whichever is left standing at the end. Keep up the good work blue team. 🙂

It is your "Team" mentality that is even more troubling then the political mud slinging of this OP.

good job.

Well I'm just going by the pics on Drudge

Not very traditional without a spear or ak47, could have at least been holding a hostage.

Hillary doesn't have to dress up as anything to look like an authentic bitch; I think she has him beat.
😉

Geez

This damn story was on every cable news channel and each of their shows (Matthews, Olberman, Hume, Hannity, the little silver haired guy with "360" etc). Jeez, it was even on Greta Van Suster show which mostly concerns itself with crime.

The Clinton campaign is having some internal trouble. It took them far too long to respond in a decent fashion. It wasn't until 10:30pm (EST) until they finally came out said the Obama picture thing wasn't "official" if done by one of their 700 campaign staffers, and they can't confirm or deny if was one of them acting unofficially. They should have said that yesterday morning.
