Isn't that what he meant when he said he has a righteous wind at his back. Seriously, what is the mystical force behind his "righteous wind?" Is he trying to say God is on his side?! I know he believes he is the chosen one and is already planning his first White House meeting, but really!

From dictionary:
1: acting in accord with divine or moral law : free from guilt or sin
2 a: morally right or justifiable <a righteous decision> b: arising from an outraged sense of justice or morality <righteous indignation>

For someone who thinks he is running an honest campaign that is morally right in its beliefs and objectives, I think the statement makes perfect sense.

Morally right? Who is the moral authority to judge what is morally right or wrong? Oh yea, him, the almighty.

People make judgments as to if their actions are moral all the time.

I have at least 2500 years of Western civilization that say that my values are right and will be right for 2500 years to come.

Exactly.. I would hope a presidential candidate believes what they are doing is morally right. I think OP is trying to make a big stretch here.

Just why do the dictionary challenged post here so often?? The simplest departure from short speech confuses them so.

So if I shoot someone and say it's morally right, is it? Or should I check with Obama first?

Try it and get back to us.

That's a good point. Crazy. See? There is another judgment that requires metrics in order to determine if I am crazy.

In order to see if I am really crazy, we would take me to an authority like a psychologist. He would then judge my responses and measure those responses against a book of observed behaviors, a standard.

Who is Obama's authority? Who is the author of the metrics by which he is measuring his "righteous wind?"

If we can tackle Palin at the mention of God, I think Obama should answer some of these questions. Is God on Obama's side?

You bring up another good point. Am I on God's side? In order to determine that, I need a set of metrics. What are the metrics? Well, there is Scripture. It's the standard. Who is the authority? God. So, I can't say with any certainty I am on God's side. I hope I am based on the metrics he left for us.

Obama has already determined God is on his side. By what authority does he make this determination? Himself. Maybe the righteous wind wasn't gas; it's just code for the hot air coming out of his arrogant mouth?

Maybe the righteous wind was a by-product of the global warming your pastor told you is a liberal media conspiracy?

How is that any different than Palin saying that god will deliver on November 4th?

Are you being dense on purpose? How do you live your life every day? Do you call your mom and ask her before every action you take to be sure it is moral? Or do you judiciously examine reality, past actions and their consequences, etc. and come to the determination that your action is probably right?

It's fine if you don't like Obama, but this entire thread is beyond stupid.

This. I make judgments like that to justify my actions all of the time and I do not believe in any divine being or religion.
