Funny. I seem to remember 28 years ago there was a Republican politician who managed to get his finger on the pulse of the nation, knew how to put the nation's feelings into words, and connected on a huge scale... energizing groups across the political spectrum in order to launch him into office.

I also seem to remember the stale and faltering Liberal establishment of the day going on and on about how this guy was just too radical, too dangerous, untrustworthy... Change is dangerous and weird. Stick with us!

Conservatives nowadays would carve his face into Mt. Rushmore if they could, and/or put that face onto a bill or a coin.

Every now and then, the worm turns... and the other side gets to suck dirt for a spell. It tends to take long enough for that to happen in this country, that when it does, the side that's about to suck the dirt has no idea how to deal with it, either because it's been so long, or because they've never had to.

Well, I remember 1980... If nothing else, I guess I'm showing my age. :p

Just listened to the daily NBC network news, they pegged the Denver numbers at only 50,000. I have no idea what numbers are true, but a 3X difference is rather extreme.

I was at the rally today, and there were closer to 150,000 people than 100,000. Im not sure who is saying 50,000 but they could not have been there and honestly called that number. Now 50,000 in Ft. Collins I can believe, for a town of only 120,000 to to show 50,000 is a real feat.

I've been to a couple of rally's in Denver. Hardly anyone spoke english though.

Do you believe a large majority of the 150,000 are registered and can vote?

That's lame, Dave, and desperate. I know you're firmly committed to the notion that the country is so stupid and corrupt that McCain must win- it's a cornerstone of sorts for your pov.

You *might* have a point if you were talking about Cinco de Mayo festivities, or the immigration rally awhile back, but the vast majority of people in metro Denver do speak English and definitely are eligible to vote...

Visitors from other parts of the Country can be surprised at the ethnic mix in Colorado and other parts of the Southwest- Spanish surname people lived in this state long before Anglos moved in, and are an integral part of our heritage... some of those families view the rest of us as Johnnie-come-latelies...

it's weird, I would have never pegged you for a Nazi-era German :p
