Maybe we can look forward to Boehner and Obama having a cry off later in the year to decide key issues. Boehner's face gets redder, but Obama seems to have more snot running down his face. It was an emotional moment and I'm sure we were all touched by his display.

That's slightly tearful overall, especially when he's thanking his campaign team. The problem with the GOP leader is that he uncontrollably sobs all of the time. He sobs and wails when you talk to him about anything. He does it when you want to talk about policy.

Imagine that you go to Boehner and say "Let's talk about taxes." He'll immediately start crying and wailing because he's so emotional. How can you negotiate with someone who cries all of the time? What if you disagree with him? He'll probably shit his pants and cry at the same time because he can't control any part of his being because he's so emotionally frail.

That's just part of the charm of ATP&N. The lefties bash a Republican for months about something and as soon as a rightie starts bashing Obama for the same thing all of a sudden it becomes unfair or trollish or not quite as bad or whatever. It's news, it's politics and it's turnaround is fair play. If it's fair for one side it's fair for the other side isn't it? Isn't it?

Boehner is the leader of the Republicans. He cries all of the time. He cried when Obama mentioned him in the state of the union. He is very emotional, like most conservatives. They tend to think more with feelings and are very very emotional people. That's why their leader is a man who cries if you even talk about him.

If you say 'hi' to John Boehner, he'll start crying.

I am not calling you for 'trollish behavior.' I don't want to make you cry like John Boehner. If Obama called him a troll, Boehner would be crying and wailing for months. He would probably get dehydrated from all of the crying and have to be hospitalized.

Say what you want about Obama, but Obama is the first president in my lifetime that i've felt really cared about the American people and really became president for the sake of public service.

Bush couldn't ever live up to his father and greatly wanted to be a 'war president', he was also beholden to business because that's where he came from.

Clinton, i think he did care, but he had... other things on his mind as well hehehe.

He's crying because he knows he should have lost but the GOP ran another squishy campaign where being "nice" and on the defensive trumped being strong and on the offensive. If I was a communist who got a reprieve to get another 4 years to sow havoc I would be blubbering as well.

That seems like a false equivalence, overcompensating to seem fair. As is usually the case, context is key. People poke fun of Boehner not because he showed emotions a couple of times, but because he cries at the drop of a hat. I'm not sure if it's scripted or if it's truly the way he's wired, but either way it's a humorous affectation. Obama tearing up at the end of a long, exhausting campaign is hardly the same.

That said, I don't really have a problem with a bit of good-natured ribbing at Obama's expense. The OP has consistently shown he has no good humor towards the left, however. He is the king of petty, hate-filled trolls. This thread is merely the most recent example.
 
I voted for Romney and I think that was a great, heartfelt speech. No one in their right mind can doubt his sense and dedication to public service.

Crying is only OK when it comes to dead soldiers, and 'murika, right?

Valid, but I do think the mockery of Boehner is mean-spirited and over the top. It also perpetuates a bad societal trope about men being wimps if they display emotion, which I think is unhealthy.

As for the OP, yeah, that was mostly my point.
 
Most issues aren't binary. There is usually some complexity. I don't think people are arguing crying is a sign of weakness or necessarily a bad thing. At the end of a heavily fought campaign for president, anybody crying wouldn't be a big deal. Crying every other day or when you see a baby. Yeah that is weird.
