I'll cheer when I see this affecting the congressional races.

Yep, it would be great if this would translate to the down ballots. It will be interesting.

I think the Senate will remain in the Democrats hands. Not looking good for the HOR though.

It would be nice if the Senate could gain back the super majority they so briefly had. Even if the House remained GOP, being able to stop the record setting pace of obstruction in the Senate would be fantastic. Though you know if the House remains GOP they'll continue wasting tons of time and millions of taxpayer dollars attempting to repeal the ACA. It'd be nice if they really were trying to create jobs like they claimed they would when they ran in 2010.

My guess is their obstructionist agenda will get quite old by the 2014 elections, this isI where the change will finally come.

That is an extra 8K per month.
Burger flippers vs engineering jobs; which type.

Last report was that they were $20-30K jobs being generated under Obama.
Such does not pay the mortgage.

I don't know if you've heard the news, but companies are having a hard time filling engineering jobs and have been for quite some time now.

How does this have anything to do with Obama aside from the lost government jobs? Neither he, nor any other President, creates private sector jobs.

For one time, he was right, he didn't build that.

Now if you would like to say he helped create an environment that allowed business/private sector to create these jobs, fine. But please list all the things he has done to encourage this growth rather than regurgitating numbers that don't say anything about jobs he actually created.

On the one hand Obama gets blamed for the high unemployment rate

On the other hand Obama gets no credit for jobs being created in the US

What does ANY president expect to get when you've offshored solid, middle class jobs in favor of the new SERVICE sector? We've heard people on here preach over and over that the service sector is to the manufacturing sector as the manufacturing sector was to farming. We should just send EVERYONE to college so that we can have the most educated burger flippers and cashiers in the world, assuming that we already don't.

Job Creators: Mission Accomplished!

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2012/05/29/150188/manufacturers-push-skills-certificate.html

Of course, part of the problem is that so much manufacturing has been shipped out that there has become a skills gap as people just quit training for jobs in manufacturing (gasp, it takes skills to work manufacturing? Say it ain't so!). Manufacturing had became so TABOO that nobody wanted to be near it and many people either fear it or programs that used to train people have faded away.

I have gotten no less than 4 serious calls looking for Automation and Controls Engineers in the last month or so (not from headhunters but from people such as heads of HR, etc., all on recommendations that have spread around). Maybe it's time for Engineer to get a raise!!!

The top third of jobs has recovered and had some growth. The bottom third has recovered and had significant growth. It is the middle that has slipped. So engineering jobs are doing better overall as they are typically a top third kind of job.

What has gone are the middle manufacturing and construction jobs to be replaced by service industry.

So you are both right and wrong in your assessment.

Saying he is the cause of high unemployment is not the same as saying he lost jobs. Saying he is the cause of low unemployment is not the same as saying he has created jobs.

Sorry you can't see the false equivalence.

Sure he gets blames for high unemployment. Like I said in my last post. Please tell me what he has done to lower it and encourage job growth.

Wait.

When government jobs pay $20-30k, you call them cushy and overpaid.

When private sector jobs pay $20-30k, you say they don't pay the mortgage.

Which is it?

You know, he goes out and insults business owners scolding them like a 3rd grader. He threatens to raise taxes on businesses/corporations and shoves Obamacare/Middleclass Tax Hikes down everyone's throat that doesn't pony up for health insurance. All those are excellent job creating tactics.

Having trouble filling vacancies almost always means the employer won't offer compensation adequate to attract employees at the skill level they're seeking.

It also means that when there are fewer opportunities people choose other careers.

So anyone what is happening to median income, and median income excluding the top percent?

What has the stimulus done to fundamentally change the economic infrastructure to reverse the negative wage trend in middle income jobs?

Should be interesting.
