If he doesn't want to take credit for the pull out,.. OK.

Because I am pretty sure it is safe to say that the majority of the American public screamed and yelled to get out of there,.. ASAP,.. even his critics. So, we got what we wanted, right? Soooo, what is the problem exactly here?

Not a troll.

I have been applying and calling everywhere. Got an email today saying a company was not able to offer me employment. Mailed out 5 resumes last week.

Filled out an online application this morning to another company.

It took 2 months to get my twic card, another couple of weeks to get my merchant mariner credential, paid for my physical, drug test and vision test out of my own money.

Feels like I am doing all this and not getting any results.

Those two statements aren't contradictory. Just because you say you are going to do something doesn't mean it was your idea.

Don't know where you are getting your info from.

Not only did it take 8 weeks, but I had to go to a place in Beaumont and pick it up. The nice lady verified my id before I could get the card, and the cards were kept in a locked safe.

EDIT

Looks like starting august 1 they will mail the cards to your house.

I got mine in May.

Obama wants credit for pulling out the troops and Obama wants to slip the buck when that seems like a bad thing. Conclusion: Obama is a politician. In reality, he pulled them out on Bush's timetable, and Bush's timetable was set because the Iraqi government refused to further extend our troops' exemption from Iraqi law. If we must credit someone or blame someone, the responsible party is the Iraqi government.

And personally I have no problem with that. That is who should have made the decision; otherwise we aren't there to help them stand on their own. It was an evil place before we went in, it was an evil place after we left, and I see no reasonable way to make it not an evil place, so I see no reason to lose more American lives there.

There's a real difference here. In the examples you use our bases are in place because either we were directly attacked or were participants in war because of the aggression of other nations. With Iraq we play Germany to their Poland. Besides, the three countries you mention don't want us out. Iraq asked us to leave and so we go.

My problem isn't with changes of plans but Obama's being a idiot in how he handles conflict. You simply do not announce that you intend to hamstring yourself to your enemies who will surely use that against everyone. When things go to crap, which is the only certainty in military actions, then what? You pretend to ignore situations to save face or you backpedal and be shown a fool or liar or both. It won't matter if the action was warranted because you should not have made the statement to begin with. He needs to stop running for office long enough to think about the consequences of careless speech.

I was responding to a question. No case is exactly the same, But I think that a big middle east base for the USA military would be in our interests. The left, and rand paul folks who think the usa should not use its power and influence would disagree.


On the subject of attacking ISIS. If we are going to attack them, then lets attack them, even if it is limited to airstrikes. Find them and bomb the crap out of them. I don't get this very limited strike business. Is ISIS bad? Are they worth bombing? The president said yes. So lets go. Bomb them.

Just to let you know my TWIC and separate pin letter both arrived on Saturday. 10 days (8/6 - 8/16) from enrollment to receiving the card.

Please note on your reciept if you haven't heard anything within 30 days to contact them.
