Obama Care is a disaster

I told yall it would be and SP euro/asia style is only way to insure everyone. Data is starting to come in. Less will be insured than before and cost 4x as much.

"The central parts of ObamaCare don’t roll out until 2014, but the wheels are already falling off this clunker. The latest news from four federal agencies is that 1) insurance will be a lot less affordable than Americans were led to expect, 2) fewer people than promised will get insurance and 3) millions of people who have coverage through a job now will lose it, thanks to the president’s “reforms.” Oh, and children are the biggest victims.

...

Start with the IRS’s new estimate for what the cheapest family plan will cost by 2016: $20,000 a year to cover two adults and three kids. And that will only cover 60 percent of medical bills, so add hefty out-of-pocket costs, too.

The next surprise is for parents who thought their kids would be covered by an employer. Sloppy wording in the law left that unclear until last week, when the IRS ruled that kids won’t be covered.

Starting in 2014, the law will require employers with 50 or more full-time employees to offer coverage or pay a penalty. “Affordable” coverage, that is — meaning the employee can’t be told to contribute more than 9.5 percent of his salary. For example, a worker earning $40,000 a year cannot be required to pay more than $3.800.

But the law doesn’t specifically mandate family coverage — and now the administration says that won’t be required.

You can see why: If the lowest-cost family plan (again, two adults and three kids) is to run a whopping $20,000, and if the employee’s contribution is limited to $3,800, the employer’s tab would be $16,200 — adding about $7.40 an hour to the cost of that employee. Wisely, the IRS announced on Jan. 30 that employers won’t have to pay for dependent"

No, RepulicansDontCare is a disaster. My health care costs go up 15% per year, and because I have pre-existing conditions I can't change plans.
Americans pay more and get worse care than any other first world country.
Obamacare is what Republicans proposed. Single payer is what we need.

They did it purely because they wanted to share power with the big corporations. They knew damn good and well that it would raise the costs for everyone.

As for single payer coming here, it won't. The reason why is because the govt won't have anyone to blame but themselves when the govt fucks it up. Also, the military expenditures won't go down any time soon.

I would hate for single payer to come here, because then you'd be forced to pay.

It would be better to just end all the regulations, repeal all internal revenue, end all patents, and to quit public spending on health care.

What's most important is who to blame. Whether it's blame that's warranted or not, the progressive left is loathe to ever admit failure. Curiously, my grandkids are never at fault for anything they do wrong either.

If Obamacare is a failure so what? It's just another piece of the fail puzzle. We'll have had eight years of him before it's over and he'll not be held responsible by his faithful followers for anything. The best thing to do is to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Does your pre-existing condition require rx drugs? If so, they'd be a lot cheaper if we didn't have patents and if we didn't have income/payroll taxes.

No they don't because taxes are higher there. Taxes would skyrocket here if single payer came here.

You're funny. The progressive left is loathe to admit failure? The right needs to apologize to the world for the GWB admin, and all the support they gave them.
The biggest disaster in american history-Bush, and the Republicans kept him under wraps during the last election. It's like he never existed.
Obamacare is not a failure-yet. Most of its provisions haven't even kicked in yet. People in Massachusetts love their Romneycare.

Instead of looking at the world solely through your left eye, try opening them both and see what you've been missing.

Obamacare isn't a progressive policy and Obama isn't a leftist so try again.

What we need to do is have a bunch of politicians who don't know anything and can only spend a fraction of the needed time on this create a partisan system of stuff, call it UHC, and shove it down our throats without any real understanding of what's needed, indeed, ignorant of the basics.

That will show us who's boss. Next up, Congress build a nuke plant of their own design.

I'll bet you it'll go up by at least 50% NEXT YEAR. I'm self employed have been for about 10 years and every year it's about 10% with zero pre existing. Right now we pay $1300 a mo with is cheap compare to what IRS says cheapest plan will cost. For shit insurance too.

You do realize health insurance companies are not the problem right?

Even if you eliminated private insurance companies and magically paid for all the care provided by them health care would still cost more in the US.

I hate them all from Clinton to Bush to Obama, one in the same bought and sold douche bags who mainly write bills for the powers that be not for 99% of Americans paying them. Last decent president we had was GHWB.

But to mitigate that we'd have to be educated as to the realities peculiar to the US.

Fuck that. Gimme free healthcare. Gimme.

They are part of the problem. Congress licensed monopoly middleman sucking off premiums and do nothing for care. There are dozens of others though making us unlike Europe or Asia who insure everyone for less than half percapita.

That's what Europeans and Asians say to our drug companies and cross border cost shifting e.g. 100% USA makes up for ALL their massive operating margins.

Ah yes, those people, you know, those people, they will benefit from a rational healthcare policy and I'd rather stick with the crap we have now even though a single payer system would benefit me because it would also benefit those people.

Vote your interests, not your hate.

Nope.
How many Detroit inner cities does Germany have? What nation in europe is as vast and geographically and demo graphically diverse as us? Which nation has bizarre regulations thrust upon them like we do? What nation has the legal parasites we do?

Theres a whole lot that can and should be done, but not by the Three Stooges.

I'd rather to back to the 1960s when HC was cheap and you wrote a $10 check to your doctor. My parents didn't even have health insurance with 8 kids until like 1980. Didnt need it. Everything was so damn cheap. But baring that return to a truly capitalist system you must have Euro style or else run away costs occur.

Capitalist healthcare failed most of the people, most of the time. That is why private insurance was invented, a slow move toward socialization. So now we have two failed models under our belt. Yet we ignore what everyone else has figured out: socialized medicine works.

Why don't you try responding. Was Bush a disaster or not? Even a blind man can see the damage he caused.
When you can change the past, let us all know. Should I continually rant about the Great Society agenda of LBJ? Wouldn't garner me much respect would it? Get my point or is too obscure for you?
