Anyone else catch Larry King?s republican rebuttal show Monday night after the convention on CNN?
Speaking of plots to kill Obama, hate crimes and racist, Larry King almost totally lost it (in a good way) and shut down one or two republican pundents that were "gracefully" trying to connect Obama to race in a negative way (to put it mildly).
I'm surprised its not making news headlines today.
Larry was talking to some republican pundents and when one or two tried, (in a way some of them have of doing, so you won?t maybe notice) tried to suggest negatives connecting Obama to skin color, Larry stopped everything, turned on his seldom seen Larry King eyes of daggers look, and shut them down by stating what will and what will NOT be allowed on his show.
Then added a short speech of how any type of racist remarks were, to him, the lowest a person can go. And it WILL NOT be tolerated., period. Then he went to commercial.
Anyone that knows Larry well, knows or should know he was just a thread away from kicking one or two of them off the show, on the air.
I knew most people would totally miss this and not realize Larry?s anger, and what just happened. But I can tell you THAT is probably the most pissed and angry Larry has been on air, ever, at his guest.
I wonder what is wrong with people that almost no one else caught this on his show last night. King recognized that smooth talking way, that gracefully plays to racist, is something that fuels the racists freaks and racial hate. Whether wearing suits on a TV show, or caught with guns in a pulled over automobile. Larry, I can tell you, was very very pissed and angry. And he knew what they were saying. Larry is brilliant!

I've heard a lot of people talking about Obama and a threat of assassination. I think it's being blown out of proportion.
George W. Bush has a horrible approval rating, is hated by many millions overseas, started two wars, and has traveled internationally more than any other president. Surely Bush is much more likely to be a target of assassination. Yet, few realistic attempts have actually been made against him.
The sad thing is that it seems as though some are making this an argument against Obama for president. Often from the same people that are so gung-ho for standing up to terrorists.

Add to that the fact that later news reports indicate it's unlikely this was any assasination attempt anyway. I'm sure the story will develop further, but last I heard the police were on thin ice in claiming any attempt against Obama. The news reported *one guy* said that another guy had once made a threat against Obama - that's it?

You never see bush. Ever. Believe me. His security is unbelievably tight. I saw Cheney 1 time and that was after a serious background check. I think when the time comes they will give Obama the same protection but right now there is no way he is getting it at that level. The secret service guys and gals are all very cool/good people and pro, I would trust anybody's life in their hands but like Hillary Clinton on the 3 occasions I met her only had 1 SS agent at her side. I think if somebody was inclined at the time they could of done something. Now I'm sure that the place would be swarmed in 30 seconds but you know. I think Obama right now is between Bush and Hillary pre-pres candidate level on security but I'm not a expert nor do i claim to understand the level of security thats inplace.
