I hate to interject things like 'facts' into such a stimulating obfuscation but here is where we are:

1) Thomson was built for $140 million;

2) The 2010 Fed budget includes $170 million for the purchase of Thomson and necessary upgrades to 'SuperMax' status;

3) Thomson has been appraised for $220 million and offered for purchase to local gov'ts (a requirement of Illinois state law); and

4) If no bids at the appraised price are received, the Thomson facility is subject to auction, but no earlier than the first week of Nov.

You may now return to jerking your knees and acting offended.

Thank you.

What does that have to do with closing Guantanamo? Even if you use the argument, however flimsy it may be, that the prisoners must be moved to this one particular location, I will not accept the argument that the federal government will stop such a project due to a $50 million shortfall. I could probably find that much in the couch cushions in Pelosi's office at this point.
