"Other Technologies"? Need more specifics...spyware?

Persistent cookies, especially Flash cookies can be a problem. Don't discount them.

A s much as I dislike the WH crew I'm not disposed to resent them for web cookies. Just empty files/cookies/history after visiting site - or better yet don't go there unless on proxy - or don't go there at all. It's not like they will listen to you anyway
