lulz. Has anyone actually read this damn thing?

Surprised that hasn't been taken down yet.

My apologies for the link, I believe it's a mobile version and I'm traveling so can a mod edit it with proper links that folks replied with?

I tried to goto a desktop version but it kept rerouting.

On topic, I posted this because it was NBC for one and two it gets the point across that most conservatives were saying.

Say what you will about Cruz but he specifically mentioned fighting for those that actually like their health insurance and wanted to keep it knowing this was going to happen.

More people have lost their health insurance than those that have signed up by far and the gap is getting much larger every day.

Yes I am outraged that sub-par insurance plans that were screwing consumers are now not allowed! This is unacceptable! Bring back the shitty insurance plans!

/facepalm

If you look at what's really happening plans with too high a deductible, too high co-pay, and not enough benefits are being cancelled. This is not a problem with the ACA. This is a problem with the insurance companies.

Headlines freak people out... but you gotta love their lies.

Because of the new ACA requirements, which are by the way in the public favor FYI, requires such changes as NOT turning down people because of pre-exisitings, removing caps, allowing the kids to stay on their parents plan to age 26, providing free preventive care, health insurance companies cannot arbitrarily cancel health insurance policies if one becomes seriously ill, and so many more consumer protection benefits.

Point...
YOUR personal healthcare plan, whatever that currently may be, MUST adhere to these NEW rules. PERIOD! PERIOD! PERIOD!
If they do not adjust their rules to comply, then any such plan is considered non-compliant.

THAT is why their freak-out.
Their threatening to drop millions because their days of screwing the consumer is coming to an end.
And here we have the press assistance with falsely spreading their lies.
WOW... thats never happened before, ya think?

But this freak-out from this twisted and misleading news article is typical ridiculous.

Insurance companies that LIVE for profit and survive ONLY from their customers ARE NOT going to kick millions off their faulty lack-luster plans just to continue with their policy of screwing the consumer.
Why would they?
This is their business. Insurance FOR PROFIT. And they need YOU for that to function!
NEVER forget THAT!

No one will be dropped.
These non-compliant companies will turn face and fully comply.
Simply because THEY want your money $$$.
They MUST have your money.
That is what they do.
They will GLADLY comply, in the end, in order to stay $$$ alive $$$.
Be assured of that. You can take that to the bank.
NO ONE has been dropped and NO ONE will be dropped.

Sure... they will naturally toss a massive hissy fit to scare the public, in the mean time, with such THE SKY IS FALLING articles as that from this NBC news article.
And they will pay HUGE MASSIVE amounts of money to run TV commercials to mislead the public (in the mean time), and instruct their republican bought and paid for congress persons to spread their false information.

But in the end, they will comply.
Every one of them.
Why would "YOU" the consumer not want that?
Do you really prefer their current defective product that has cap limits, turn downs for pre existings, canceled coverage for new illness, no preventive care, no competition, etc etc ???

This is not exactly rocket science for "insurance for profit" to prefer with doing business the same old ways.
To keep picking and choosing who to insure, how, and when.
For many many long years now, THAT has been the insurance for profit means of operation.
The old mo.
So naturally, they want this to continue unchallenged and unchanged FOREVER MORE.

And " if " any one of the current insurance companies would prefer to go out of business, and or drop current customers just to thumb their nose as ACA reform... SO BE IT!
Because YOU do not need THEM.
THEY need YOU.

And they WILL comply with the new ACA set rules and regulations.
With that you can bet your sweet ass...
But until then, they will spread them-there lies to fool their fools.
Time is running short. They know that. And yes they are in full panic mode.
Panic mode because in order to survive and continue to make money off the customer, they MUST comply.
And that is exactly what they will do, despite the sour taste it will leave in their collective mouths.

Ignore their poker face. They hold no winning hand here.
The consumer holds the winning hand thanks to ACA reforms.
And it is about damn time that for once the consumer won a hand in their "insurance for profit" game. Or scheme, as it is.

Don't people realize what is at stake here?
Why this organized campaign of misinformation?
And why insurance for profit has freaked to the point of night sweats?
The day of screwing the consumer is about to come to an dead end.
They know that.
.

It goes without saying that I couldn't read all of this, but it's good to see some of the apologists are still complete in their faith.

The fact is he said people could keep all their insurance and now many can't. Unlike Jay Carney you are not paid to lie, so please have some self-respect and be honest.

So what you're saying is that the admin lied or at the least was completely wrong, but that's okay because it knows what's best.

Seems pretty firm. Don't know how you square that with the actual law.

How do you know they are sub-par?

Those plans were tailor fit for the individual. Men didn't have to pay for pregnancy coverage. Women didn't have to pay for Viagra.

if I was young and healthy, I could have a plan that just covered the 'oh shit' moments, and if I needed a dr I'd pay for it out of pocket.

Instead now you'll have people that pay for insurance, but can't afford to go to the dr.

instead of paying 100 dollars a month for oh shit insurance, and saving the rest to cover the deductibles or dr visits, they'll pay 300 dollars a month.. still have a deductible that is thousands of dollars.

A silver Obama care plan still has a ~4000 dollar a year out of pocket limit for individual's.

How is someone going to pay 2-3 times more for insurance, now going to afford another 4000 dollars before they get covered?

How much care can that 200-300 dollars a month extra buy? Money that will now just be going to insurance companies, and welfare leaches.

ObamaCare Schaden-Fraud

In his weekly radio address, President Obama preposterously pouted that "it's well past the time for folks to stop rooting for [ObamaCare's] failure," with the obvious implication that conservative Republicans are in fact cheering for the pain of the un-insured.

Let me translate: conservatives hate me and my law so much -- probably because I am black -- that their hatred is causing the law to fail. Blame them, not me!

Uh, no...that dog won't hunt, as they say.

We are not causing ObamaCare to fail, because we cannot cause it to fail. We did not write it. We did not buy the theory behind it in the first place. In fact, not one of us voted for it -- not even any of our squishier cohorts. Nor did we rig a Minnesota Senate election to make it happen. We never said you can keep your doctor and your health plan if you like them, and we never said this would cause premiums to go down 2,500 dollars per family.

We did not threaten and bribe the few remaining free-market companies involved in health care to foolishly support it. We did not elect Bart "Stupak is as Stupak does" and other dupes to fall in line at the last minute. We did not play any role in the Cornhusker Kickback, and we did not prance around with a grotesque gavel when it was passed. None of us ever said anything as brain-dead as "we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what's in it."

Because we know you, and what you stand for, we already knew more or less what was in it.

No its not.

That may be the case for some but even the article and numerous others across ALL media outlets are sourcing people who are getting fucked.

The one referenced in FL is a prime example where her premium was under 100 and the deductible was low. Because of her canceled plan, she now has a 400+ premium and a larger deductible.

This is happening everywhere, Republicans and life long Democrats are getting the same treatment across the board.

If you thought this was going to magically make everyone's cost cheaper and provide better health care the math is obviously not adding up and thousands of people said it wouldn't.

A few things amaze me.

a) how little obama actually sopposedly does. he didn't know about benjzaga (whtever its spelled), he didn't know about Fast and Furious, he didn't know about nsa spying etc. WHAT the fuck does he know? what happened to "the buck stops here"

b) that so many millions are getting dropped. and so many are now buying the "those were bad plans" bullshit. As others said they didn't cover everything but they cover what that person needs.

The ACA was a good idea. but very very bad implementation. not just from the GOP messing with it. but even before.

Edit: oddly CNN has a article on this i just seen. they pretty much echo how i feel about him "not knowing" and brings up other good points

http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/29/politics/obamacare-nsa/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

IF he didn't know then his cabinet are keeping him in the dark about important stuff. This is bad and leaves people to think that the president is not really in charge.

well except for those hard core dems anyway.

So to "punish" the insurance companies, you're forcing consumers to purchase more expensive (and profitable for the company) plans? That include coverages that may not even be applicable to the consumer and ensuring they will never file a claim for it? And providing a guaranteed profit margin for the insurance companies, with any shortfalls being made up by the taxpayers?

Clearly you, more-so than I, the consumer, know better what my medical and thus insurance needs are...

Given what you put forth, you sir may be devoid of rational thought.

When Democrats try to "raise the standards" for insurance companies and mandate certain things in the name of a minimum standard of care, that's good.

When Republicans try to "raise the standards" for abortion providers and mandate certain things in the name of a minimum standard of care, that's bad.

Progressives will always support your "freedom of choice." Unless it's a choice they don't agree with, in which case they'll pass laws against it (NYC large soda tax, etc) or take you to court about having that choice.

This turd doesn't need any help from Republicans or shutdown theater in order to fail. Its going to fail just fine on its own merits. Exactly the way it should be.

Meanwhile liberals will continue to pretend Obama's asshole tastes like honey.

So how exactly does that go with the dear leader promising everyone that if they like their current plan they would be able to keep it under the obummercare abomination? He was obviously lying.

The republicans one year delay is not looking so bad now. maybe dems should have taken it to give time to repair this train wreck.

they can't. that would prove that the GOP was right to fight it. right to shutdown the government to try to get a delay.

The Dems do that now? it would look bad.

so in short. it's not going to happen.

you mean they would put the good of their party over the good of all the people of the nation? 😀

Well from what I am hearing and reading in the news, most of these insurance policies were "junk health insurance policies" and or didn't meet the law requirements for the new ACA. In other words those Insurance policies being terminated are due to not being good coverage and would still lead the policy holder with huge out of pocket expenses that they probably would still be unable to pay. (In other words the state and hospitals pick up the tab for these individuals who won't have sufficient health insurance coverage).

The other thing I am reading, but that most of us already know is that those people who have successfully been able to apply on the "shaky" website are finding that if they make more money than the average US citizen, then based on their annual income, they will be paying the most for coverage through the ACA to help cover those who cannot afford hefty premiums. The wealthiest helping to pay for the poorest.

The other issues are related to those red states that refuse to expand the medicaid coverage which would in affect help to provide subsidies for those families or individuals who don't make enough money for a hefty monthly plan. These red states have put a huge group out in the cold with regard to getting government subsidies.

5.2 million will be left uncovered from red states not expanding medicaid.

These people are projected to have incomes too high to qualify for their state’s existing Medicaid programs, but below the federal poverty level (nearly $11,500 for an individual) required to be eligible for federal subsidies to buy private coverage on the new online insurance marketplaces set up by the Affordable Care Act. Medicaid is the state-federal health insurance program for the poor.

Epic Fail. Keep carrying that water for dear leader, however.
