Obama 2012 Campaign Officials Starts

In a sharp shift from his mostly positive 2008 message, Obama directly attacked opponent Mitt Romney, praising him as a “patriotic American” but ridiculing Romney’s infamous claim that “corporations are people,” a legal truism that has proven to be a favorite Democratic attack line.

The big Obama show — heralded by a huge “Forward” banner atop OSU’s Schottenstein Center and a fire-’em-up presidential introduction from first lady Michelle Obama — was less targeted at the national media than his 2007 announcement in Springfield, Ill., when the Obama campaign sought to project the image of an unstoppable nationwide movement.

This time, Obama’s team is localizing its message and targeting key constituencies — students, veterans, women, Latinos, African Americans — in too-close-to-call states such as Ohio and Virginia, while firing up young voters and volunteers whose support Obama sorely needs.

If the carefully choreographed kick off was any indication, Obama will face some challenges in recapturing the 2008 magic — especially among young voters who weathered three years of souring job prospects and rising college costs.

I, for one, am really shocked and confused to learn that this campaign apparently ended at some point (thus requiring it to be started up again) 😕

Yeah... I don't see a repeat of youth voter enthusiasm for Obama. He promised them Change, and we all got 3 more years of government gridlock instead.

Not that I think that Romney would be any better... but those disillusioned 20 somethings will likely be staying home on Election Day.

My bet, this will be the most negative campaign in American history. By the time its over, the world's supply of mud may run out. But television executives are salivating, all the extra high prices they can charge per minute.

Heh... And they say that government stimulus doesn't create jobs 🙂

I'm not surprised that they chose "Forward" as the slogan for the campaign. I am surprised that they stuck with it after it was shown how many communist regimes used it as their slogan.

Gotta give him credit though, he's like the Honey Badger - he doesn't give a shit.

if nothing else, at least it solidifies things having the Obama Campaign and MSNBC using the same slogan.

Pretty much this. I'm confused about his motivations though. He started (officially) on Karl Marx's birthday, using as his slogan a popular Marxist slogan that was the title of one of Marx' books. Is he and his entire campaign staff really that abysmally stupid and/or uninformed? Is he hoping that the Republicans will jump on the Marxist label bandwagon, therefore giving him cover against actually discussing his record? Does he think that the economic collapse and public education have evolved Marx into a hero of the people? Has he decided to go for broke and run as an unabashed Marxist, thereby giving him a mandate to provide some real "Change" if he gets re-elected? What's his angle here? But yeah, gotta give him credit for moxie. Claiming that a health care bill funded in large part by looting Medicare is protecting Medicare takes some serious brass even in a profession that requires destruction of conscience.

Yup that Forward thingi, isn't that on the State of Wisconsin flag? Maybe he's going to help Wisconsin take over the country. I know he' got to be planning something sinister because I can feel it in my gut. But hey, I have a defective brain so what can I say. Thinking straight isn't my thing.

It's a derivation of divide and conquer. He comes at us on so many fronts that we're forced to spread our resources too thin fighting them all. It's been his M.O. from the beginning. I've bolded your statement that I think holds the most water although IMO, all your points are excellent ones and all could be within the realm of possibility. Funny how few truly understand the ramifications of Obamacare. You've reduced it down to a few succinct sentences. :hats off
