They've mellowed out from 5 years ago (Noel anyway). He seems like a decent guy in interviews. I think they've stopped fighting with Blur, the London Suede, Robbie Williams, and practically every other Britpop group out there (although they still make jests). Check out the newest DVD, Familiar to Millions. Noel does an awesome Neil Young cover (Into the Black).
well said by a few posters, music is much up to taste, but aside from that, it's indisputable Oasis was one of the greatest rock bands on the 90s, longevity, record sales, touring revenues, all the physical measuring sticks of success (Rollingstone named em no. 1 and PJ no. 2)
can they be considered over rated now? the don't have good album sales now and they are hardly on MTV (in a positive way). Face it, America hates Oasis (except the New York Mob), even though Oasis last tour (not the one with the Black Crowes) grossed 8th overall of all tours that year.
