I used to have EyeJackets till someone stole them from my car. Now, I'm happy with a $20 pair. The "mystique" or whatever of Oakleys isn't that great anymore. :)

If I were to shell out now though, I'd definately get a pait of X-Metals. Not sure what model, there's about three that I really like.

Just buy a fake pair for $30, no one will be the wiser. :)

i have pair of oakleys.... i think they're the "five's". They're not to fancy, but pretty nice, and they're polarized. I really like them. Really comfortable, great for driving.
those scars' look alright, not really my style though... a little to much flare with those.

I have the Minutes, got them last year and they were worth every penny I paid for them. I can see much better (I wear contacts) and they don't have any wear on them. Get a pair. :)

Btw, this is my 2222nd post........ :p

Oakley sucks... look into Smith eyewear...

I have a pair of Smith Slider Bazooka's and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair of Smith's a million years down the road when I don't have these for whatever reason.

they rock!

here are some pics of the Slider Bazooka itself...

here is the official Smith site.

Asking someone else what kind of Oakley's you should get without showing them what you even look like is a big mistake. What may look good on one person might look like crap on another. I've owned 2 pairs of Oakleys (E-Wire and T-Wire) and after countless trips to the sunglass store in the hopes of purchasing a third different pair of Oakleys, I couldn't find a pair that fit me well. So I just settled for my T-Wires.

That being said, I HIGHLY recommend NOT purchasing Oakleys. Not only do they look silly on most people (including me) with their mirror lenses (Respect my authoritay!) and farked up cheap frames, but there are much better glasses out there. I ditched my Oakley's for a pair of Maui Jim Kauais and haven't looked back since. Don't force yourself to wear Oakleys just because all the junior high and high school kids do. Get yourself a real pair of sunglasses. :)

if you buy foakleys for $30, you're a nut job.. for that much, buy a decent pair of whatever... the fake plastics are ok.. minutes anyway.. but the metals... utter crap.. not even worth the $5.. heh

but still too spensive :(

Best bet would be to go to a store and try them on. Not all styles may look good on you. In fact not all styles may fit on you. For instance C-Wires are not wide enough for my face, and I don't believe I have a particularly wide face.

McPhreak:
Funny you should complain about Oakley's cheap frames. My old roommate owns Maui Jims (don't know the model) and a couple of pairs of Oakleys (00, Pro M Frames, had a pair of XX too I believe), and admitted that the Maui Jims had better lenses, but felt that Oakley's frames were much better. Having handled his Maui Jims, I too feel that Oakley's frames feel higher quality (I own Juliets, E-Wires, 00s, and Pro M Frames, though I can say the M frames are more "solid" than the Maui Jims, but they have their uses).

Well, I can't think of a single pair of Oakley's that have flexon frames like my Kauais do (because there aren't any). I'm not telling everyone to go out and buy a pair of Maui Jims. In fact, I recommend AGAINST blowing $300 on a pair of Kauai's (I actually got mine for $250 on the Ashford deal, but same difference). I'm just telling people to go and spends some time at the store and look at brands OTHER than Oakley because I feel there are brands out there which not only are more practical, but more important, LOOK BETTER on any given individual and won't make you look like you're still in high school.

He might be a young fellow; maybe that never crossed your mind.

And IMHO, I highly recommend Oakleys since they look so damn cool! That said, yes, I am a college student. :)

That did cross my mind. But this statement applies not only to all ATers who no doubt comprise of more than just high school kids, but also to those high school kids who might want to look a little more fashionable. Just mai too sense.

My advice is take a girl with you (preferably one you like) and ask her opinion and ask her to pick one out that looks good on you.

I have a friend with juliets... hes a pilot so they work well for him.. but on most people they are way over the top..I think you need to be a pilot or a Pro Wrestler for Juliets
