didn't touch pda, aparently problem started about a month ago...as for safe mode, doesn't boot up in safe mode,

Try and repair the registry from the recovery console.

in recovery console...they said they never set an admin pw...does dell set one by default?

Slave the drive, pull the files out of the Documents & Settings folder or copy the entire thing, then...format C:

Password erasers are your friend. Here is one of hundreds that work (I only have experience with this one and it does the job very well).

How did you get adaware to bork Windows? I've never had that happen and I always click to remove everything it finds without even looking.

use the recovery console to repair windows, if not, reinstall windows itself, files will still be on the hard drive as long as you dont format

do a repair install of windows (not the same as recovery console)...it should restore all the files Windows needs while keeping most of your apps still up and running

i ran adaware once and it did the samething i could not figure out what went wrong
so i had to reinstall everything!!!!!

i will never use adaware again!!
