I had the same reaction the first time I saw that fan too. My cat is just stooopid enough to try and play with that fan blade.

AcidzT, i have self control. my cat on the other hand... he seems to be attracted to things that can bring him severe bodily harm. <no! no! get away from the fire, dumba$$!> no, you don't want to bat that scorpion around, stupid!> i swear to god that cat's going to give me a heart attack some day.

Haha.. that's what I did with my case in the summer LOL.. didn't attach it permanently.. that would actually be a very quiet way to cool the computer..

and it would get very dusty inside. /me pictures a dozen bounce dryer sheets stapled together on side of case. 😕

The intersting part is that the fan sucks air from the case. not to efficiently cause there is no shroud sealing the fan tips... Prolly is louder than hell would be interesting to be able to read that page

believe it or not, I used to do something akin to that. When I still had my gloriously fast K6-2 350, it would often overheat, and I didnt have any case fans, so I took a big box fan and stuck it next to the case with the sides off. Was very loud, but took care of the problem.
