O.K. I give up!!! Time for ASCII art for BBS's 101

I just don't get it !!! What am I doing wrong...It always looks good in the message text but, when I go to view it, it looks like a drawing from a pre-schooler! :| Not that I plan on gracing the forums with my wonderful rendering creativity!! Please, I need some help! I've seen some really cool art made from smileys too, but how are you guys doing it with ASCII ??? If it's too difficult to explain I'll understand.

the font you write in, when you compose the message is curior new.....a FIXED WIDTH font, where every letter/number/sign takes up an equal amount of width.

The messages however, are shown in the much more lovely Arial font, where every letter is only as wide as it needs to be. Spaces are ultra-thin, as are l's, i's, etc. m's, w's and such are wider.

therefore, it'll get screwed up! Notepad is da bomb for viewing ASCII art

I feel lower than a snake's belly! Yes Prodigy, that should have been sickeningly obvious ! I always use notepad when composing but, wasn't using the right font...Thanks!

yeah, it does look horrible here. no proper spaces and font is different...
