o/c'd P4S533 or EP-8KHA+

I'm looking for the fastest problem-free mobo-cpu combo to be had for under $250. I've narrowed my choices down to 2 possibilities: (I'll be using Samsung PC2700 I think)

1) Epox EP-8KHA+ and Athlon 1900+ XP

or

2) ASUS P4S533 and Pentium 4 1.6A

Assuming I get the Pentium, I'd overclock it to 2.2 - 2.4 Ghz, or else the Athlon would obviously be the faster of the two.

Previously, I was set on getting the 1900+, but Intel's release of the Northwood core (esp 512K cache) is making me second guess my decision. Also, I've arrived at the conclusion that the KT333 chipset probably isn't worth it - it's only slightly faster than the KT266A chipset and still has some hiccups to work out.

Any comments (esp direct comparisons between the boards/cpus that i mentioned) or tips? I'll probably be buying towards the end of May, btw. Thanks guys.

Most people around here seem to say that if you want to overclock, go with the p4. If you'd rather not have to overclock, get the xp. Keep in mind that the oc'd p4's are not 8 million times faster than an xp. Personally, I would go with whatever is cheaper. You can always squeeze a couple hundred mhz out of the 1900 too.

That is a hard one to answer but I have both computers setting here the only diff is the 8KHA+ has a XP1700 on it, If you wasn't going to over clock the 8KHA+ is the faster computer even with the XP1700 on it but nobody that gets the P4S533 1.6a leaves it as is that I know, I just run the P4S533 at 2.133, I took it up to 155 FSB at default setting and it was stable and ran at 41C, I have the stock Intel heatsink, I would push it harder but it is for sale so I took it back to 133 but I think it would hit 160 with the stock heatsink and everything set at defaulf, But then again I don't know if the P4S533 would be any faster than a XP1900 even over clocked, But they are both Stable computers, I was a little let down by the speed of the P4S533 at the high numbers it was putting up but it seems to be a good running computer
