O/C Virgin looking for help.

I have dug through here and alot of the stuff is hard to make heads or tails of as a newb to O/Cing.
Here is my setup:

P4 2.53
BH7
1GB Samsung PC2700
Radeon 9700 Pro

3 fans in the case but otherwise stock cooling on the CPU and Video Card.

I am not looking to go nuts here - but from what U have read it seems reasonable to to get the CPU up to 3.X without extra cooling.

Would love a pointer to a step by step for this great board - or some settings to try.

if that board isnt a dual channel ddr you'll have trouble getting a high overclock with a gig of ram. 2 sticks of ram dont overclock well. You should be able to overclock the video card some. go to rage3d.com and grab their program and start overclocking. you should be able to get the gpu and memory up 25 mhz maybe more. Just loop 3dmark 2001 a few times and if you dont get any artifacts or tearing bump up the gpu or mem up another 5mhz and repeat.

Does the performance benfit of the extra 512MB of RAM compare with the possible ability to o/c this chip up to say 3.X Ghtz?
