arghhh, just reformatted win2k.........

computer was working fine today. this afternoon i booted up (i had already
booted it up about 5 times today already and there were no problems) and all
of a sudden the computer would continously restart. win2k would appear to
boot fine but rt before the login screen appeared, i would see win2k's BSOD
flash for a fraction of a second (no idea what it said) and the computer
would restart.

i have no idea what casued this. the only thing i did during that session
was defrag with executive software's win2k defrag, run a program called
CPUstability 6.0 beta 4 and benchmarked the HD with sisoft sandra. could
this have caused the problem?

could it be the fact that i overclock? i run the FSB at 75*6=450mhz.
i've had the FSB set at this for a month now with no probs. I did add a
promise ultra66 card today. but then i did run fine many tiems earlier today
and yesterday with that card.

thanks

Try setting your processor and mobo back to defaults and see if it happens again... if it doesn't, you'll know it's the overclocking and if it does... well, all I can say is good luck trying to troubleshoot. Out of curiosity, did you run anything with the CPU Stability test and/or did you set the priority as high? I've heard of people damaging their components by using CPU Stability test for extended periods at a high priority.
