O/C a K6 III is it possible

Is is possible to o/c a K6 III, and if so by how much can you overclock them. I have a K6 III 450. It is a little old but it still works and what the heck if I can get a bit more speed out of it all the better

in my opinion, I don't think you will be able to yield too much out of K6-III 450, even if you do I don't see any major performance improvement.
I've never own a K6 system before, so that's only my guess.

The k6-III were near impossible to clock higher than 450 and that's why amd made faster k6-2's and stopped making the k6-3's

Only the new K6-III+'s and K6-II+'s can be overclocked to any great extent. They are built on a .18 process as opposed to the .25 process used to make the original K6-II and K6-III chips. Im not saying that you wont be able to get anything out of the chip but dont expect much.

I don't think so. I had a K6-3 400 and I could never o/c that thing. You might get lucky but I doupt it. If you want to o/c buy a Duron.

I'm still running a K6-III 450 in the wife's system. The best I was ever able to overclock it to was 475MHz. I recall some guys hitting 500MHz with theirs but they were the rare exceptions.
