At my university's library, it was impossible to pull this stunt. First of all, the library was small and they do a full security sweep of each floor before locking up the library. What a great adventure it must have been though ...

The basement level/study area, where he slept, is open 24 hours at Bobst Library.

fvcked up friends, only let him take a shower, not sleep on their couch or floor?

good point.

Maybe he didn't want to impose on them too much. It is one thing to let him use your shower, but quite a lot more to let him sleep in your apt

I wouldn't let a guy stay indefinatly in my place if I'm paying rent and he isn't.

I'd let him crash for a few nights, but not take up residence for 8 months. If he got 31k together, he could have gotten a wee bit more.

I could charge ultra-low rent, but I wouldn't let him do it free.

Wow. What an ass.

Although he works four jobs and has several student loans, Stanzak said he received no financial assistance from his family and had only enough money to cover tuition, about $31,000 a year for full-time undergraduates.

You think $31k is easy to make as an undergrad working part time? I bet he was living off of every penny he could get.

The Doheny Library at USC is friggin huge. It has like 3 floors above ground and 7 floors below ground IIRC.

Hopefully it works out for him, they got him a "free" dorm room I'm sure because of the publicity. Just goes to show you opportunity is fading fast in America. Things like College only for the richest.

Get over yourself, you socialist moron. Education is not a right and it's not free; he's getting an education at one of the top universities in the world, and he's paying his way through; good for him.

Dorm rooms are so small, that it would be really uncomforable for three people. If there was a shared living room (suite), I couldn't care less.

theres a signin policy and u cant stay in any nyu dorm for more than i think 6days/month. bobst is HUGE, 13 floors, and yea, sadly 2 ppl jumped off the 8th floor this past fall, though i think one was b/c o of drugs

The guy wasn't trying to be original. Unlike your friend who did it for the adventure, he had no choice.

yeah i think tuition last yr (when i was considering going into the 8yr ba-md program) was only 28K i think. nyu charges an arm and a leg for their education, but i personally dont think CAS (college of arts and science) is worth that price tag (stern, tisch, and film tho...)

This is the same place that removed half my financial aid causing me to headaches and bad grades for my sophomore year. ><
