Seems to be the best way to not get into a brawl with the cops over resisting arrest is not to resist arrest. :hmm:

I wonder how much of the interaction that guy managed to get on camera?

Restrictive knife laws are a second amendment violation, and are bullshit.

Why would you need to always be carrying a knife? I get it if you actually need it professionally, but why would you carry it with it everywhere you go?

I use a knife daily; mostly pocket knives, but I also carry a largish fixed blade for work. I add a low profile fixed blade when I travel in sketchy areas because it's my right.

I grew up carrying a knife, always have. But where I lived it was used daily for various things. Today I still use it but less often. It is just nice to have, feel naked without it. I don't carry a rambo type knife on my hip, but a smaller 3" or so folding blade in the front right pocket or waist band.

This seems like common sense, but don't resist arrest and you won't get into a fight with a cop? The arrest seems legal to me. At least it won't be called picking on a black man, because the cop is black. Although much lighter... so we'll see.

To open packaging with, cut things, a knife has endless uses.

It shouldn't be called that anyway. It's a power issue, not a color issue. After the Baltimore riots, the radio was doing interviews with the residents, and one of the people said something to that effect. I thought "Holy shit. Someone gets it!". That doesn't easily fit into any agenda, and requires more thought, so you don't hear about it on the news.

Indeed. I'm also curious of any analogy that the videographer could relate with the seeming injustice of the encounter.

What the hell do you guys do where you need a knife on you all the time. At my work I need to knife but that's about it. Leave it at work when I leave.

When I need a knife on me at all times, I don't wear it in New York.

I'm surprised someone hasn't commented about the vertical video yet.

I use it to fix things, remove stuff from my skin, fabricate parts, open packaging... I don't know how anyone can not have a knife. Asking why a knife is useful is like asking why rope, fire, or wire is useful. It's one of the most basic and universal tools you can have.

I use mine all the time outside of work. That's also why I have to buy new knives often because I wear them out. I had to use it just 2 hours ago to take off the plastic security tab for a couple pairs of gloves I bought at Meijers. It's handy, it's quick and easy and fits perfectly in the small sub pocket (watch pocket) of all my pants.
