NYKO AirFlo EX not recognized in WinXP

I have been playing a lot of BF2 so I haven't had the need for a gamepad, but with the recent release of Madden, I plug in my USB gamepad to see it doesn't register at all. No Ding that a USB device has been plugged in, nothing in device manager, nothing in game controllers.

I tried the gamepad in my wife's laptop with the same result.

Went and bought a new one, suspecting it being broken.

Same result. Nothing happens when plugged in (other than the controller IS powered).

NYKO has no "drivers" for it as it is suposed to work with XP (which it did before). Since the only thing I have done to both PCs recently is download the latest Microsoft patches (did so when that worm was going around). Has anyone heard of this issue? Has a microsoft patch killed my gamepad drivers?

Note: Tried in every USB port on the computer, other things work fine, at the moment only my gamepad does not.

Thanks

Just a little update, I have since done a full format and reinstall of WinXP with no change in results. (I even tried a version of XP WITHOUT SP1 or 2 after reading some issues about USB2 with SP2)

I am totally clueless on what could be the problem.
