That's the only reasonable explanation. Totally insane. The whole clock management for the last minute of that game was below middle-school football standards. They had time to take the timeout, and try for a quick slant pass to get a few yards to make the FG easier. At the very least, if you're going to spike the ball to stop the clock, that makes the timeout pointless. Fail, fail, fail, fail.

Yep. I might be mistaken but I thought they had 2 timeouts too. They were asking a whole lot of a rookie kicker to make such long kicks. It's outside of his comfort zone. He's money closer, mid 40s, but 50+ yarder to win the game, and doing it twice... just bad coaching and they should have gotten him closer.

this is bittersweet for me. I want the Giants to win, but the team I'm playing against in the 1st week of FF playoffs has Bradshaw, Manning, Cruz, and Giants D.

I don't like either team, but rooted for the Giants just because I hate the Cowboys...and have since the Tom Landry days.

I have to hand it to both teams though, even though there was a lot of crappy plays made, both teams fought hard. IIRC, there were 6 or 7 lead changes during the game...and a final score with only 3 points difference...and came --><-- close to going into overtime.

I LOVE seeing Jerry Jones get beat. He's turning into the next Al Davis...

anyone know where I can watch the last quarter of the game? I turned the tv off when the cowboys were up 34-22 (or something like that)

I'm a Giants fan and I can honestly say our D is over rated. Aaron Ross is, and always was inconsistent, if not downright bad in the back field. And Tuck is having an off year. The rest of the fat ass Giants D get winded by second half as if they go home and eat nothing but bon-bons and Slurpee’s.

Agree about overrated, disagree about the fat ass Giants D. Webster can play, Boley can play, Rolle can play, Prince is young but has tons of talent, etc. Ross never lived up to the potential. Injuries have been killing the Giants for a few years straight now. Tuck has a neck injury all year which accounts for his off year, Osi is out, Goff, Phillips, Terrel Thomas etc. etc.

He just dropped that to eat up more time on the clock.

That pass was a thing of beauty. Eli dropped it in there perfectly in double coverage.
When the Giants got a first down on the 1 yard line, I was actually thinking they might take a knee for the first down play to eat up the clock. They still had two timeouts and 3 shots at it.
