Nothing more hilarious than this - why one is acceptable and the other one isn't is laughably stupid.

lol, to bring up your home state again, Texas literally is doing the same thing, just flipped. Photo ID to vote, proof of vaccination banned.

So now you think Texas is a minority oppressing shithole and laughably stupid? Why do you live there? Sounds terrible.

Just from managing small businesses the worst thing you want to do is pick a fight with someone over something before they even enter the place. Then anyone who works at a medium sized or larger business is going to get flooded with poor customer survey scores which I have fired people for in the past. No big business is going to turn off their surveys for NYC only.
Plus many places simply aren’t going to be staffed to do this easily but maybe a Gym or Food place that you sit at would be easier.
As a small business owner I completely agree with this. Enforcing the mask mandate that Governor Pritzker put in place on business' across Illinois was something I never want to ever have to experience again as long as I live. It was a horrible experience that many of you around here have never and never will have to deal with.

I could give two shits about how blunt or badass NYC business' are when it comes to confronting customers because that doesn't apply to me or 99% of the US. I guarantee you that if Illinois decides to follow suit there is no fucking way I'll be asking my customers for their vax card before they can come into my store.
I've also decided that mask wearing is also no longer mandatory before entering my store. Fuck that shit. It ain't worth it.

Don’t get how this is going to work. NY is going to put the burden on business staff to check the vaccine cards and they are expected to know who the card belongs too AND tell someone they don’t want their business?
Simply isn’t going to work the majority of times.
Yeah, herd immunity is nice but trying to force angry dumb conservatives to do something they dont wanna do is just not realistic.

Well the thought is that there is a decent segment of the population who aren't dumbfuck conservatives that are just on the fence about the vaccine, aren't too political, some are honestly lazy. I don't think they think the dumbfuck Trumpie base is gonna run out and get the shot now. But if they can get another 10% of the pop to get it, and fuck those dumb GQP'ers, that's enough. It is a hard sell regardless, but if anywhere can do it, it's NYC.

I agree in that the restrictions should be at large events, travel, schools, colleges, healthcare and on employees. Put mandates in those places uptake would be high enough to not need to be checked at every small business.

What kind of business?
Do you have the lonely guy who comes in and wastes a bunch of you or employees time because he thinks you are his friends?
Do you have the crazy person come in to ask about crazy things like can I speak to the mars rover with this amazon Alexa (and is serious about it)
I have spirits in my house can you advise me how to use XX & YY to appease them?
If so are they the fun crazy person or the offensive irritating crazy person?
How about the creepy dude that falls in love with a girl who is uninterested in him and far age inappropriate? I used to have the fat guy or former sports guy help the creepy dude out. They’d eventually figure it out and wander off somewhere else.

I’ll never forget one of my crazies and she may have not been that crazy in retrospect.
2005(ish) she used to make big scenes about buying a prepaid phone with cash and whom she would trust to sell it to her. She used to disguise herself and she did this pretty well, she was a former TV model, advertising extra and a few small budget movie extras. She said her ex worked with the government and could read all her emails, text messages, could access her computer and phone could delete contacts and email, he could access he phone when it was powered on and listen in they the speaking to who she was talking too on call or even off calls. She didn’t want cameras because he could access them too.
At the time what she described sounded possible it also sounded pretty crazy. Then Edward Snowden happened years later and I am like hmmmm, she was pretty nutty however maybe.....

One problem I've not encountered in NYC is a lack of will by service establishments to tell assholes what to go do with themselves.
My wife went from working reception in Newport Beach to upper west side Manhattan. We moved back to socal after a bit and when she went to work in Irvine she had to "unlearn" some customer service habits she had picked up at her previous gig. 😂

This countries latest experience with unemployment fraud should tell you how valuable IDs are.

How Unemployment Insurance Fraud Exploded During the Pandemic – Mother Jones

Some of the forums have thousands of participants and regularly offer stolen identities for sale, alongside tech tips, screenshots that ostensibly prove the methods work and advice on which states are easiest to game and which are “lit” — that is, still paying out fake claims. Users have created two Telegram channels in which they trade tips for filing claims in Maryland, whose labor department recently said it detected some 508,000 potentially fraudulent jobless claims between the start of May and mid-June. Participants in those forums have been talking about turning their efforts to Pennsylvania, where officials recently said they have “noticed an uptick” in fraudulent claims.

And I thought you cared about your employees. Guess not.
All of my employees were vaccinated on or before April 30th. Because we are classified as Ag we were able to get our employees vaxed as soon as possible. Of course I didn't force my will as an employer on my employees to get the vax all of them willingly opted to. So fuck off.

Way to still miss the fucking point. You still don’t respect or really care about them.

You obviously are not concerned about what they may take home to their families and have zero interest in protecting them.

I have no doubt your employees jumped at the chance to get vaccinated. It was something they could do to protect themselves since you obviously don’t give a shit.

Oh I'm sorry, what were you saying lil' bitch boy?

I work for a not so big tech company and there are many types of collaboration that just work better in person.

You wanna go get me a sammich little lying child as you argue with imagination instead of facts and reality?

He said his wife works in retail, not him. Obviously THEY SPEAK TO EACH OTHER AND SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCES. maybe that doesn't happen in your marriage? Whatever.

HOLY FUCK YOU ARE SO DUMB.

Please don't stop posting here. I admire your ability to just keep on trucking into a wall of stupidity.

Whoa there first was there a mask mandate for where the business is located
Is the business in a closed space, how many people in at one time and how close.

I dunno if I'd take outtahismind's word on stuff. He doesn't seem to operate is tangible reality.

Edit: I'll add this - if a state starts a mask mandate, a SBO shouldn't HAVE to confront anyone. Patrons should wear the mask, that simple. I would never expect a SBO, MBO, or even an Enterprise to HAVE to police it. Wear the mask, and don't vote for your local reps again. Nobody likes the masks, but it's not a local business and it's employees who create the mandates.
