1. Do you have your digital cable box connected to a home theater receiver via digital audio out?
2. Do you not get sound through the digital audio out on channel 50 (Food Network)?
3. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

I have no idea where to look to help fix this problem. TWC rep said, "Sorry, I don't know."

EDIT: I should add that I only have a problem with the digital audio out on channel 50 only. All other channels seem to work ok. Sound through the coax to the TV works fine on channel 50.

If the person you're talking to can't help you, ask to be transferred to tier 2.

You would think that they would offer to transfer you up to "tier 2" if they didn't know how to fix your problem.

Better to just dump the Pioneer box and go Digital and get the DVR cable box.

The Pioneer box is digital. I don't feel like spending $9 a month for DVR.

I don't have an answer for you, but I just want to chime in that that box sucks. I have one as well, and it constantly overheats (the bottom of the case is so hot, you can't touch it) and just shuts off. Also, lots of artifacting and sound drop-outs. I have a fan pointed at it now and it's a bit better, but that shouldn't be necessary. I'd get a new one but TWC's customer service is so crappy, I don't even want to deal with them.

Yeah, TWC customer service has not made a good impression today. I just called back and was connected with an equally clueless customer service rep. I asked if I could be transferred to "tier 2" support, to which she replied, "We only have tier 2 for broadband problems." They're sending a technician out on Thursday afternoon (that ought to be good), so I guess we'll see what happens.
