JFK will be $45, I've never paid flat rate to LGA from Manhattan?
What I meant is I was always on the meter to/from LGA. With tolls it's usually around $20-23 from either my apartment (UES) or office (Midtown West).Originally posted by: Zim Hosein

Same here, private car service to LGA is cheaper![]()
You're talking about a city where riding 5 blocks could cost $10.Originally posted by: notfred
Almost $50 to get to the airport? Jesus christ.

Aren't they opening up the train system to the airports soon ? One of the best ideas ever.

LGA is actually pretty easy to get to by public transport. Take a subway up to 125 (real quick on the 4-5 express line for the east siders) then hope on the bus (M60, I think) that goes straight to the airport. Will take you probably less time than a tax and costs a total of $2.
May be a pain, though, if you have a ton of baggage.
Airtrain has been running for several months.Originally posted by: rh71

I took a cab from midtown to JFK the other day for 25 bucks plus a 5 dollar tip. The cabbie wanted to go all the way to the TriBoro bridge even though we were right next to the 59th street bridge. The TriBoro is 4 dollars each way and the 59th street is free. The tolls alone would have tacked on $8 to the cost. He was telling me that the TriBoro was the move b/c of traffic which was total BS. I guess you can choose between the flat fee of $45 and letting the meter run now.
